So after playing the intro to Super Paper Mario, I have noticed that whenever I open the chapter doors, the area doors and witness a paper intensive cutscenes, my game either freezes or slows down immensely. Can someone tell me why this happens? I have seen other people not have this problem at all...

Certain effects in the Paper Mario games use the GPU in an unusual way that some GPUs are slow at or even don't support.

I have the same GPU and my advice would be to try Direct3D. That fixes the slowdown in Paper Mario TTYD for me (different game but both use bounding box intensively).

I was told if I disabled the bounding box it would work, but IDK. 11-07-2015, 08:54 PM
Disabling bounding box (if you do it in both the general settings and the game-specific settings) will fix the slowdown but will also make those graphical effects stop working. They will definitely not look right, and the game might even freeze at some points like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door does.

The only problem is that it looks like the filtering is a bit jagged. Do ya know a way to fix that? Also, Sometimes when I open a door, especially the colorful star door to transition to the next area, the other half of the door disappears and it freezes there.....do you know of this issue? |
