Okay before i start, i know that theres already been a lot of threads about my issue, however most of the fixes seem to be for PC and not Android. Ive spent the last 4 hours going through a good dozen threads and tried the few fixes that were out there but nothing has worked. Im hoping someone here can give me a fool proof step by step personally, be it here or over PM because i havent had any luck.
My issue is that the game freezes during the intro right after bowsers castle appears, the game cut to black and the audio would become a continuous tone. After some research it seems that its caused by a bounding box issue however the androud setting have no option to toggle this. There was a thread that adressed this and provided a link to a .ini file titled R8P.ini (or something very similar) that emphasized these few lines of code
[Video_Hacks]
EFBToTextureEnable = False
BBoxEnable = True
It also outlined that it should be put in the folder "GameSettings" in the dolphin.emu folder, and that if it wasnt there to simply make a folder with that name and place this .ini file into it.
When i clicked the link it was just text, not a download link, so i went back and held the hyperlink and selected "download link" which saved the file as "R8P.ini.txt" considering im using an android and didnt have the option to "save as> all files" so i simply renamed the file and removed the .txt which raises my first question, is that how i should have done it?
I looked up how to save .ini files on android and didnt get much except for file managers and notepads (of which ive downloaded a few and nothings helped)
Since putting this file in my newly made "GameSettings" folder, the game no longer pauses at that scene, it simply closes the game and takes me to the main Dolphin game select.
My working theory is that i didnt properly save the .ini file, however ill be the first to admit that i know nothing about whats going on, i only got this emulator to play super paper mario, and i hope this doesnt get branded a duplicate because i havent seen my specific concern addressed here before.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
(ALSO big thing to note, when i signed up for this account it asked a lot of questions about my CPU and GPU and RAM, however i couldnt find any info, so just let it be known that im running this on an LG G6, so id anyone knows the specific stats for this phone thatd be helpful too)
