Hi everyone !

As I said in the title, I'm trying to play Super Mario Sunshine with HD texture on Dolphin Iishiiruka 988 version, and the game is most of the time slowed and the sound buggy.

I've tried looking around for solutions in the settings that didnt work, or I was thinking that maybe my config was not good enough althought it's a gamer laptop.

I try this on a Asus laptop with :
-Intel Core i7-6700HQ
-Nvidia GEFORCE 960M
-8Go of RAM

So I hope someone know if my config is not good enough or if it comes from the settings !

Thanks !

Have you tested that the issue happens in official Dolphin too? Otherwise, please ask in the Ishiiruka topic.

Though, as a quick tip: If the performance is good when not using custom textures, and you haven't enabled custom texture prefetching, enabling custom texture prefetching should help a lot.

Thanks for your answer!

I tested it on the official Dolphin, and there is still lags (maybe less than on the Ishiiruka one).

The performance is good without custom textures, but if I enable the custom texture prefetching, the game lag when it loads the map and says :
"Custom Textures prefetching after 6054.8 MB aborted, not enough RAM available"
and then load the normal textures.

:/

Is the texture pack in DDS or another format? (If it's available in both DDS and another format, try the DDS version if you haven't already.)

Everything inside is in PNG sadly, for almost 1Go of images, and at the root there are two files, Ingame and Text & HUD, I simply dropped them together in the GMSE01 file (if the mistake come from this)

Then you don't have much choice other than converting the texture pack to DDS yourself. I think https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-custom-texture-tool-ps-v26-2 can be used for doing that.

That sounds fine.

PNG texture packs are fairly deceptive because when decompressed in memory they tend to get very large.

It may be worth checking to see if the pack author has a DDS version, which can be loaded compressed, or use the tool that Jos linked.

Okay so, I've tried to convert the png's via Compressinator, but the dds aren't loaded :/

And there is only an incomplete DDS texture pack sadly :/

So I'm gonna try tomorrow another compressor to see I think
