It's against the dolphin forum rules now to criticize other member's work simply because they don't want to be criticized or associated with a project?  That's censorship.  To be clear I would put a tiny portion of razius' textures in the separate Sunshine_Comparisons github project and link to them in the project wiki to criticize them, from a purely stylistic standpoint.  How is that different than posting his textures on the forum to critique them, as I've already done?  Bighead posted my textures on the forum to critique the fact that many seamless textures were not seamless.  This was very helpful to me, criticism fosters progress.  I urge you to reconsider your position on legal fair use for criticism being allowed on the forums.  I understand that you are trying to be sensitive to razius but this rule would set a bad precedent and establishes a strange grey area in regards to commentary and critique on other member's work.

The rules are that you can't use textures from another source if you don't have permission. If you included those razius' textures in your project, for whatever reason, that's not acceptable here. If you don't agree to those rules, you don't have to share your work on the Dolphin Forums. You're free to do whatever you want with this project, and we're free to decide if it follows our rules and can be posted in these forums.

At that point then, it's not really part of the SMS UHD texture pack, and wouldn't be a problem as far as we're concerned. That's a separate GitHub project, and if it's not posted here or connected or linked to this project, it's not our problem. Razius will have to take up the issue with you somewhere else. What we're asking you not to do is make them available as part of the texture pack itself or have them associated with the SMS UHD texture pack until razius says otherwise. That would include posting comparisons here or using his textures in this thread (and MayImilae has already asked you not do anything with his textures from here on out). If you're critiquing razius' work in a different project not linked to this SMS UHD texture, that's fine, otherwise, we're going to respect razius' wishes. You get a free pass once (your post using his textures on the last page), but he's been pretty firm about usage of his textures.

As far as we're concerned, unless someone explicitly states rules regarding texture usage, people are free to critique other's work like that. In other words, we're going to assume by default that it's okay to share or edit. Until the creator says "No, you can't do this," there's no foul play. The point here, however, is that razius has stated both now and in the past that there are restrictions. While that is unfortunate for the community, he has personally denied you permission to reuse his textures (in any capacity it seems). This is an issue you're going to have to resolve with him. Razius made those textures, and as such, on these forums, we give him the ability to decide how they're used (or in this case, how they aren't used).

Just wanted to say even though I don't personally agree with the new rule, I appreciate all the time you've spent resolving this issue.  I respect that you're trying to make this a safe space for content creators.

Yeeeet, razius has only ever explicitly stated that he doesn't want his textures in my pack.  So until he replies it's unknown whether he would allow his textures be used for comparison purposes.

razius, if you would allow it, I would like to use the six textures of yours that I attached in my last reply for the sole purpose of including them on the Super_Mario_Sunshine_UHD_Texture_Pack wiki comparisons page (not including them with the pack itself but hosting the full size files in a separate GitHub project Sunshine_Comparisons).  You wrote in my original post that what I wrote was slanderous.  I think having your actual textures as examples of what I am criticizing would be fairer to you.  It would let people make up their own minds and prevent them from taking my opinion verbatim.  The mods have made this choice up to you.

If you believe that your work is superior then you should have no problem with such comparisons, both to my textures and the original game textures.

I tried to use waifu2x on the dumped textures from mario smash football.
When I put the new textures in the dolphin/load/textures/game_id folder, the message 'loading external textures 0 MB' appears when starten the game.
Do you know what could be wrong. Do 'I have to rename the textures or so? I used the names from the dolphin dump

Read Bighead's post, Dolphin Custom Textures info. You probably just have to check "load custom textures" in the "advanced" section of the graphics settings in Dolphin. Check "preload custom textures" too. The names have to exactly match the names of the textures in the dump.

I cant get it to work...
Of course I have load custom textures on, that why I get the massage 'Custom Textures loaded' but it dont load my textures (0MB of 0MB it says...)

You're trying to play Super Mario Strikers with custom textures right?  Are you using the proper id for the folder [color=black][color=#0b0080](G4QJ01[/color], [color=#0b0080]G4QE01[/color], [color=#0b0080]G4QP01)?[/color][/color]

I tried it with the Id that was shown in dolphin. Now I added the two other folders and it is working! Thanks.
When using Bigheads Texture Tool, the Tool says that many Textures are corrupted. Do you upscaled ALL Textures from Sunshine or isnt that possible?

Finally I got it to work using waifu2x-caffe, not the custom texture tool from bighead.
Now the problem I have is, that all textures with an alpha channel arent transparent anymore. How do you upscaled transparent textures?

I haven't used either the texture tool or waifu2x-caffe so I don't know. I uploaded each texture to the website individually. Waifu2x automatically changes black and white images from rgb to greyscale and then if greyscale textures are upscaled the background becomes black. You need to download a image editor (I used Gimp) and change the image mode to rgb anytime you try to 4x upscale a grey image. Often you'll need to change the color mode of that 4x upscale result for the texture to display properly in the game. For some textures, like the clouds in Super Mario Sunshine that appear on the title screen, waifu2x flattens the alpha channel, use "color to alpha" in gimp. With I upscaled only the most important textures from Super Mario Sunshine and then very carefully tried upscaling some of the small textures used for lights, shadows, smoke, etc. Don't try to upscale the whole pack in bulk and expect things to look nice though, really it's better to go individually. Some textures can be upscaled up to 8x with obvious visual improvement, some textures won't look much better beyond 2x.
