I finally could make the 60FPS and Widescreen gecko codes work. If you try using on latest ishiruuka the game simply crashes but on latest official master branch the problem appear to be fixed. Also, do you prefer to use "remove heatwave effect" cheat or not? And Ishiruuka makes this texture pack work better or it's the same as official master branch?
My specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 x64 Processor/CPU: intel I7 3770 3.4 Ghz Video Card/GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1060 6GB Memory/RAM: 16 GB Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 5.0-xxxx X64 (always the latest) and the latest Ishiiruka for custom textures. If your simply upscaling the textures using waifu2x, doesn't it make more sense to do in real time within the emulator.

The SHORT answer is... inefficiency. Are you paying attention GIR? [Gir: MHM] The long answer... Did you actually try upscaling an image 8 times using waifu? No, you did not! It's not an instantaneous process and it takes way more time than rasterizing a vector and since no one uses vectors "in real time" as a source for HD textures within an emulator, no one's gonna use waifu. We're using DDS because PNG causes hiccups when decompressed by the GPU. Also, waifu cannot create seamless textures so u need to work around that, using some tricks. Hope this explained it. I have done texturing, i used to map for Quake 3 Engine game called ET, the base textures are low res, for example seamless grass was 256 x 256, you
can't upscale this x8 with waifu, the end result will be absolute garbage, instead i created a second texture, called a Detail map, around 1024x1024 that gave the grass more detail. This is what they did with Serious Sam HD, they didn't need to apply magic interpolation with the original textures. My early attempt at texturing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFwcWUEi78E |
