Super Mario Sunshine 60fps Hack

I read the post detailing the hack, but I cannot get it to work for the life of me. When I enable the patch and the vbeam hack, it just seems to make the game run at 2x speed. I also don't really understand how I would make the audio sound correct even if I were to get the hack to work correctly... Also, it seems to start me on a whole new memory card when I enable the patch.

EDIT: Never mind about the game running at 2x speed, it was just the cutscenes. However, the memory card and audio speed problems remain.
