Hello,

I have an interesting problem in which i'm curious if avoidable. I'm playing super mario galaxy and everytime a crowd of starbits appear on-screen, the game slows down dramatically, losing about 13 frames. I'm not sure what could be causing this. My settings are:

Sound:
DSP LLE enabled (in its' own thread, both on or off doesn't resolve this)
Xaudio2 @ 44100

Graphics:
DX11 (DX9 = slower)
Default sub settings as per SMG Dolphin Wiki

Gamepad:
using PS3 gamepad with motioninjoy.

My Computer settings:

Geforce GTX 570
Intel I7 2700k (Oc'd at 4.6 GHZ)
Windows 7 64 Bit
8GB of G.Skill Ram

Any help is appreciated. Again, this only happens when multiple star bits appear on screen...like the sounds coming from the starbits or something slows down the game.

Thanks!

And that's the problem, afaik DSP LLE has a kind of sample limit, the same happens when you battle in Zelda: Wind Waker, the FPS also slows down dramatically...

There may be ways to bypass this, but i dunno^^

Below are attachments.

Yeah, I noticed it happening on games like Xenoblade chronicles too. There can be plenty of enemies on screen without a problem, however if they are all making noise at once, the game slows down.

I think my hardware is fast enough to emulate all Wii games...but i'm not sure if this LLE recompiler is the culprit, let alone fixable.

It also seems that DSP HLE doesn't cause this problem, but on the flipside with absent music. It only happens with DSP LLE recompiler.

To elaborate, it only happens when an area is shrouded with star bits, when they bounce on the ground and make clinging sounds. It also happens when Star Bit meteors crash land onto the stage.

Thanks Anti-Ultimate, that sounds similar to what i'm experiencing. I hope there's a fix of some kind for this.

I've also been experiencing the same issue, and as far as I'm concerned, there's really no way around it other than using DSP HLE. I've tried different Dolphin revisions, and everything I could think of but wasn't able to fix the problem unfortunately.

Omg, so you're having this issue too? Could some developers shed light if possible? Or if in the future, this can be fixed?

JUST SPENT THREE HOURS WORKING THIS OUT AND MADE AN ACCOUNT TO POST THE FIX FOR THIS!

Right click the game, go to properties, tick 'Alternate wiimote timings' and BOOM no more lag. Seems its the wiimote speaker causing the slowdown, probably not enough bluetooth bandwidth or something. Anyway hope that fixes it for you!
