Super Mario Galaxy, Lag?

Hi I'm entirely new to this emulator and I've used loads before but I find this one to run rather slow so I wanted some help getting it to run faster.

I'm using the r4771 SVN version of Dolphin on:

OS: Windows 7 32bit
CPU: Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
RAM: 3GB DDR2 800Mhz
GFX: EVGA GTX 260

So I shouldn't have any trouble running this emulator.
So How can I go about setting this emulator to run faster?
What sort of config options to I need to change, and what is the best Mouse & Keyboard Setup ---> Wiimote & Nunchuk setting to play Super Mario Galaxy?

Try using Rev 3950 (get an old Orleans' build) and set frame-skipping to around 2 or 3 every time you play the game. Set EFB to texture. Also, for those particular builds in that range of numbers, you will have to use OpenGL.

Should be very playable throughout the entirety on even crappy systems like mine.

I should add that frame skipping is found in the emulation settings drop down menu at the front of the emulator. It needs to be set every time you play.

It's very, very useful and it seemed to get a lot of hype at the time that it was implemented, but for some reason I don't see it talked about much anymore, though it is still just as useful.

Would I benefit in anyway from using that Direct3D 9 plugin?

Also what sort of control scheme should I use to play SMG because I found moving the mouse back and fort on screen like in the Wii sisn't cause Mario to spin because its attached to the shake action.

In other words what is the best way to simulated the Wii Controls on a Keyboard & Mouse, for SMG.

P.S. Why would you consider the older build of Dolphin to be better than I more recent one such as R4771?

If you use an older rev to play like 3950, then DirectX is not usable for SMG. I wouldn't necessarily say that the older build is better, I am just saying what I found to be the fastest for my system.

As far as the control scheme goes, here is what I did. Set emulated extension to nunchuck. Then click on button mapping. Then in the lower right portion set the nunchuck to be the keyboard. Then for me, I set the z to be semicolon, I set the c to be u. Then for left right up down, I did J, L, I, and K. Then, do not worry about the shake because that is your middle mouse button.

So basically, your left mouse button jumps in the game, the right mouse button shoots stars, the middle mouse button shakes. Semicolon will now stomp when you are in mid-air. And the U button will help get the camera to face forward when you are running around. And JLIK will be used to move around.

kk cheers one last thing have you tried r4771 and compared it to r3950?

I just tried the latest revs and for me they were about 6 to 8 fps slower than rev 3950. But everybody's system is different, so use whatever works better for you.

Also, make sure you get the pull stars to work in the game, as sometimes that can be an issue depending on which settings you pick.

Is it normal for the FPS to drop to 20-30fps in busy levels?

In the main Observatory area, an FPS of around 20 to 30 is common. And I think there were a few levels that seemed a bit slower than others.

But I think for the most part, the levels should play at a more reasonable range anywhere from upper 30's to 40's, mid 50's, and many at the full 60.
