To use the mod you must use a version of Dolphin that supports the new texture format. The resolution of the textures: Most are 2048x2048 and 1024x1024, however the font and hud elements and some backgrounds get as large as 4096x4096. These large sizes will keep this mod looking good into the 4K monitor era.
To use place all of the subfolders in your game folder directory in the load folder example: "C:\Users\Christopher\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\SB4E01" The "SB4E01" may be different depending on your games localization so make sure to check this if the mod doesn't appear to be loading.
Contributions by Razius:

I usually end up linking this every couple of posts. They are the most up-to-date packs I believe as I was the last one to work on them (or at least this iteration). It would be nice if they can be added to the first post, but I don't know if CDAMJC will ever return.

In a few weeks I will be playing Super Mario Galaxy in 4K when my new computer comes in. This is one of the first things I will be downloading: your texture packs. You have no idea how thrilled I was to find your profile, your post here, and the still valid links to your mediafire and the whole complete texture packs. The only qualms that I may have is that some textures may be missing and still in its original state, but honestly, after reading countless of threads and posts since 2015, I'm quite sure that more than 99% of the textures will look satisfying enough to a casual gamer like me. I have literally made an account in the past 5 minutes just to praise you. I know that I'm just a normal person in the world, but just know that you have made someone extremely happy and that he will sleep easier from now on knowing he fulfilled his childhood dream of playing the best game in the world. Thank you again, and stay safe in the world! Best wishes to you and your invaluable work to the Super Mario Galaxy community. Thank you thank you again! 06-06-2020, 02:49 PM

Thank you for all of the support here on the site and with this mod. I am so swamped with real life I appreciate you keeping things alive and up to date. Thank you again! 06-28-2020, 09:03 AM
The standard texture packs can still be found here:

I have very much the same issue / question. I copied the zip and installed the pack via the resource pack manager, but at least wii mote screen, title screen and HUD are still the same. I'm also new to Dolphin, so I probably just miss something here.
Edit: I have updated this post with more information. It should hopefully be a good resource for users who do not know much about texture packs.
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-ho...tures-info Make sure they are "installed", they will be lit up green. Both the standard packs and the resource pack is using various types of DDS images. You only need to use one of the packs: manually install a standard pack, or use the resource pack manager for resource pack. If given a choice, always opt for a DDS pack over a PNG pack. While PNG packs work, they have more of a tendency to cause stutter, and I upload and share them for archival purposes as there is no quality loss. Any resource packs I upload will always use DDS images. 06-29-2020, 11:31 AM

Thank you very much. For me, it was simply not realizing the 'Load Custom Textures' checkbox was unticked. This solved my issue. What is the difference between the full packs and the 2160p packs? I see .6GB more data, but was just wondering for more detail for the SMG1 pack. Is it really worth offering two packs for this? And is your arbitrary water fix supposed to be put into another folder for SMG? I do have to merge your Bighead folder correct? Sorry, it been a while, and I was redoing these packs. Glad you worked on them though, they needed some polish. |
