I already did a ton of additions and fixes for SMG2 in the update that post links to, but I'm not finished with it yet. These games require custom mipmap effects to remain static at all resolutions, and I brought this up here and even made a modification that makes it possible. A PR has been opened by JosJuice here with my changes done correctly, so I must wait for that to be merged (if it will be) before I re-upload the packs. I still want to do some more testing of this feature and more work on the textures themselves, but I've been busy, and sidetracked by my custom texture tool, and I've also been reworking the mipmap effects used in Xenoblade.

Great, I reposted in SMG2 thread about the broken texture we were getting and listed it along with the one area that some people thought was messed up. If you could take a look at those before you release I would be grateful. Your work is very much appreciated on these packs that were never really polished. These games deserve it. Thanks. Basically this: Wild Glide Galaxy water In the "Particles Effect Clouds" folder theres a file called "tex1_256x256_m_123c307fab917b99_1.dds", which is causing the problem." And then someone mentioned looking up to the canopy Tall Trunk level the canopy might be overbrightened or messed up. It definitely is, but I never played the original. 01-24-2018, 02:06 PM
Thank you Bighead!
I've been super busy lately swamped with fulltimejob, family, contract texture work, and rebuidling MEUITM (Mass Effect Texture Mod) and these 2 mods were always on my mind. Much appreciated as always and thank you for sharing. Hopefully I can check these out soon, I'm especially insterested in SMG2 since I left it so incomplete. I swear will get back to wii texture modding, eventually but I am sure glad to see this update for fans of the mods. Thanks again! 01-24-2018, 11:59 PM
Huge thanks Bighead, you're my hero! So do I need to move any of your textures from the Bighead folder to the main folders? And I assume all of CDAMJC's textures are included in your packs?
Thanks guys! 01-25-2018, 12:19 AM

I replayed both of these games not too long ago and I thoroughly enjoyed your packs, they really bring these games to the modern age. The further I got into the games, the more I couldn't resist fixing a few things I noticed. Eventually thought... maybe I'll add few things that are missing. But I wasn't sure if you would approve, so I tossed all my textures in a separate folder just in case (aside from the ones that I fixed directly). I'm still working on fixing some of the mipmap effects now that Dolphin can use the "_arb" suffix, so there will be another update soon. When the day comes that you return, feel free to remove anything you don't like or replace with something better. (01-24-2018, 11:59 PM)e2zippo Wrote: Huge thanks Bighead, you're my hero! No they don't need to be moved, and yes all textures are included. I just kept the same naming scheme as the original folders, so I guess you could consider it a pack within a pack. 02-02-2018, 04:29 AM
The update is ready. There are now "arb" mipmap textures included so Dolphin 5.0-6199 or newer is required. I was originally planning on just fixing any mipmap effects but got carried away and added a bunch of stuff.
Download: Mirror 1 Code: - Add a bunch of environment textures found around the main hub. There is still quite a lot that can be done, but this is as far as I'm going with it at least for now. The change log is pretty thorough and all additions were pretty straightforward so I won't elaborate further. 02-02-2018, 05:11 AM

As I said in my last post can you expand a bit on how mip maps work with the sky and stuff like that. I am interested in how Nintendo does their tech, and I'm not sure how that stuff works for things like the sky. If you have time that it. Very solid contributions here that make the pack a lot more polished. Amazing. 02-19-2018, 08:58 AM
Hey guys, this texture pack is truly impressive. However, I'm having some issues, it will randomly lag every few seconds including the audio. And yes I have preload textures on as well. Any suggestions?
I added a bunch of stuff to both Mario Galaxy packs, so use my download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/1t1kwxpt...rio_Galaxy It's not "complete" by any means, but its a lot closer to having everything retextured throughout the whole game. It uses arbitrary mipmap effects so a newer version of Dolphin (above 5.0-6199) is required. |
