Looks like I will be very busy LOL.

What I will do about png vs dds? I will release 2 downloads. Why? Because the new pre-load feature uses large amounts of RAM that some people don't have, so DDS will be the best option for them. Then PNG will be pretty insane. I will convert as fast as I can but please be patient Smile All the pngs I have are still in the old naming format :/.

About SMG2, I can transfer the HUD elements quickly and probably characters, but I will most likely hold of on environment until SMG1 is complete because it will reduce possible redundancies.

Yeah, don't sweat the PNGs, no hurry. DDS are the best solution for most people, anyway, I guess.
HUD for SMG2 would be great! I personally think HD HUDs are what enrich old games the most Smile

Preloads 1080p 60fps CPU GPU RAM. Please ignore the terrible desync that seems to have happened in the recording as the game is synced perfectly. I am no Steven Spielberg.

I hadn't noticed, it's in the recording, not the game, i'll fix it. Thx

Edit : I genuinely don't have time to mess around syncing videos that have not recorded properly so you will have to excuse the desync. It's all about the preload anyway.

Well, unless the SMG2 programmers were feeling really lazy, and just copied and pasted stuff from SMG1.

Just from a quick compare I got 133 exact filename matches SMG1 - SMG2, and I didn't have the full set to use, so there will obviously be more reused textures.

Wouldn't it be more sensible to use a lossless DDS than a PNG? I get that PNGs are more readily editable, but quick googling suggests that lossless DDS isn't hugely different in terms of file size (depending on what's being stored), and it should be faster, as any D3D-compliant GPU should be able to decode in hardware.
