Naaah, it is I who thanks thee!

I'll be testing both DDS packs out on my system, for SMG2 and whenever the packs come, in both Dolphin's to get a decent overview of what people can expect from a system like mine. Nice job people. And to clarify my comments were in no way time-determined. I didn't expect anything to get done any time soon lol. SMG 2 is still totally unfinished.
To clear up what this means: Most mod creators of textures that I interact with do not want help with their mod nor do they want people specifically doing anything with textures to their mods. My post was typed long before any of the argument ensued. That he said it was okay to resize them is great. A lot of people are pretty specific about what they want resized and how they want it done, so to me that means unless asked I would only ask the modder to do it when they can themselves barring their own work schedule. Again, I don't care when the SMG2 mod gets done. I don't plan on playing SMG1 anytime soon again, though, I could test this at some point just to see how it runs I guess. I'd rather just wait for SMG2 to get done. As long as it gets done this year GRRRRRRR. 07-10-2015, 08:19 AM

Fantastic job, i now love the game more than i did.
Hi guys, I seem to have a problem with making these textures work
So I'll try to say everything I did in just this post: 1)I have downloaded the latest ishikura dolphin from this site 2) I put the textures in user/documents/dolphin emulator/load/textures/rmge01 cause I'm using the american version of the game 3) I made sure that load custom textures was checked 4)I'm using OpenGl 5) I set the efb copies to texture, enabled cache and set cache accuracy to fast What else should I be doing? I'm going insane to fix this Thanks in advance... 04-15-2016, 11:48 PM
It seems there has not been any activity for some time, but am going to ask a couple questions in the hope of a response.
I downloaded the latest version of Ishiiruka. Using the performance pack from this post. Everything is working, but I do have SOME stuttering and audio issues. Question 1: Should I just be using standard settings for Dolphin (besides the async shader setting)? Question 2: If I have a 3.7 Ghz Quad and 10 GB of RAM should I be using the bigger texture packs? Question 3: Would that even make a difference with performance issues? Or the fact that my TV is 1080p? V-sync seems to help with the audio issue, in that everything stays synced up, but much more lag. I have not tried to set everything up according to the recommended settings from the Dolphin forums, because I assumed that using Ishiiruka may require different settings... Thanks for any help in advance. 07-27-2016, 08:21 AM
Does anyone besides me experience some minor microstutterings because of the Texture Pack?

Does anyone know if using a SSD for the texture files (or for the iso) would help against the microstuttering?
Rig isn't a problem here, when I turn off vsync and speed limitation my fps goes beyond 140fps, but as I play I do have some minor microstuttering like it drops for 54fps for a sec in certain parts of the game, but it fixes itself after by the cache. I'm also using DDS files now since PNG would stutter a lot more. I'm playing in 4k, but I got an I7 6700K, 16gb ddr4 ram and a GTX 1080 (2 actually, but I turn SLI off since it doesn't support). Also checked Cache Custom Textures and Pre-load Custom Textures. Does the Wii also has some minor stuttering some times? 07-27-2016, 06:38 PM

Two GTX 1080? Jeezus!
Anyway, that won't help you here. You could, however, try enabling Cache Custom Textures on GPU. In the end, though, I fear nothing helps when textures are TOO big. I think Tino once explained that the bandwidth a GPU has to stream textures is just overwhelmed by those giant textures. That's why I reduced the size of the textures. You shouldn't even really be able to see a difference (except maybe when looking at them side-by-side). It's that 5/28/2015 Performance DDS Download link in the first post. With that one I get no stuttering at all. Oh, by the way, are you using normal Dolphin or Ishiiruka? Because if you are using normal Dolphin you might also just be seeing shader cache stuttering... that's something else. But for now, just try the performance pack, then we'll see.

I already had enabled Cache Custom Textures on GPU (in Ishiiruka). I'm using Ishiiruka. The stutter is really minor it happens like once every 15minutes or more for just a sec, it doesn't bother me, but I was just wondering if it was normal or not.
I'm new to this wii emulation, already tried ppsspp before, but never thought dolphin was so good, specially with these hd textures combined to 4k resolution in Mario Galaxy, it's just freaking beautiful. |
