Thanks gamemasterplc, your code works perfectly. Much easier to use than 3DMigoto.
It is way better with this code. I add it to the main post.

Update V0.4.5 is uploaded! No new screenshots for now.
1412 textures are ported so far. Code: V0.4.5: EDIT 1: Haze Maze Cave was left away by accident. Need to reupload it again later today. EDIT 2: The texture pack is reuploaded, Haze Maze Cave is included again. EDIT 3: Screenshot gallery is updated. 04-08-2016, 06:01 AM
I couldn't wait until the final release, so I tried your texture pack (which you are porting very quickly, thank you) and it's great .
When you finish it, you will also upload the PNG version, right? I would prefer using that for maximum quality.

Yes, I am certainly providing a PNG pack. The issue with PNG is the size and that my upload is a bit slow.
It is quite slow to upload a PNG pack with every update. And I don't like the idea of downloading separate patches. DDS has proved to be more efficient when releasing multiple updates in a small window of time. V0.5.0 will most likely be the final version for a while. I am not saying V.05.0 will be the last version, but it certaintly would be a good time to optimize and upload a PNG pack. I intend to run the final pack through optiPNG, which will also reduce the size to upload. Unless, optiPNG reduce the quality... Then I may skip that. Expect the DDS pack first for V0.5.0. The PNG may be uploaded a day after V0.5.0 most likely. I seriously need to take a break and actually play the game itself. Luckely it is about 150 textures left. That is nothing compared what has been ported so far. As for now, I have to port both remaining Snow Worlds and I have to fix some transparency issues. It may take a few days before wrapping up V0.5.0. Should anyone have any sugestions or notice any issues, for example with missing textures, white borders or transparency, I be more than happy to fix that. 04-08-2016, 07:41 AM
OptiPNG shouldn't change how the image looks. I remember someone saying somewhere if there is any difference in pixels from the source, then it's a bug. Also, thanks for porting this pack! Looks like it will be fun messing around in Mario 64 again.
Update V0.5.0 is uploaded. Both snow worlds are ported, including their enemies (I guess the penguin is non-hostile) and the skybox.
I also uploaded all remaining high quality textures (well... most of the remaining). Should you have any suggestion, find any issues or have any improvements, please do tell or share! I intend to have this texture open source. It is not my own work after, only did the porting. So feel to use it how you wish. Of course, keep in mind that the credits for the textures go towards Razius and MollyMutt. Many thanks to them. And Bighead of course for his Custom Texture Tool PS. You made my work much easier. For now this pack is done. Issues will be fixed of course, but there isn't much more to port. DDS pack is uploaded and is optimized through OptiPNG. The PNG is currently being uploaded, so that will take some time. This pack is also optimized through OptiPNG. So... Have fun with SM64! 1530 textures are ported. I don't know if it is possible. But an extended draw distance code would be awesome for Super Mario 64. Similar to Ocarina of Time. EDIT: PNG pack is uploaded now! |
