Hey all,

So I downloaded the newest Dolphin Build and I enabled Ubershaders to always on. I booted up Twilight Princess(GC) and I'm still getting stuttering. It just keeps dropping frames and is just not smooth at all.

I have so many questions lol. I've looked and it's possible to play this game at a steady 30fps and I know my hardware should support it (i5 4690k OC, GTX 1070) so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

For example what should I set my full screen resolution to? Is internal resolution the same thing? Do those NEED to be the same? Should Per-Pixel Lighting be off or on? What about Disable bounding box? What's the best setting for backend? Open GL or Direct3D 11? Is Vulcan better? And what about the ubershaders should that just be off or mixed or elusive?

Sorry for all the questions. I have no problem playing at "only" 1080p if it plays smoothly.

I'm sure there is a document out there that tells what the best settings are most stable and smooth gameplay.

Any help is appreciated!!

What kind of stuttering? Is it constant? Is it scene changes? Do you have cheat codes on? Do you have ubershaders on hybrid or exclusive? What resolution are you running?

Note: Per Pixel Lighting greatly complicates shaders, so, that will cause them to take even longer to generate.

It's while I'm moving around. I'm just in the very first area. It's hard to explain, but it's not smooth at all. I can run Super Mario Galaxy 2 at a smooth 60FPS. This is not smooth 30FPS. I do have cheats enabled because I have the widescreen hack in Gecko (and I've been told that you need to enable cheats in order to enable to Gecko patches). I have my resolution set to Auto and my Internal resolution set to 4x (2k). Everything else is pretty default. I have ubershaders set to exclusive.

But will that effect the Gecko codes I put in for the widescreen fix?

Yes. But please try it out so that we know whether that's the problem.

OK, so it does appear that turning off cheats DID help with stuttering issues. Any ideas what to do next?

So I can't use any of the Gecko codes for widescreen hacks then?
