I haven't seen a quick/easy walkthrough on how to get a gamepad set up for Dolphin and Skyward Sword so I thought I would post one for anyone in need.
Keep in mind that this method uses an unoffical patch to emulate the Wii Motion Plus. For more information about the patch/emulating the Wii Motion Plus: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=20167

1) Download:

x64: http://www.mediafire.com/?5j57dnnhmqzn2bm

x86: http://www.mediafire.com/?8303maf7ggfl20j

2) Unzip and drag everything into your Dolphin file. This should replace the Dolphin.exe and a few .dll files. This is the unofficial patch that lets Dolphin emulate the Wii Motion Plus.

3) Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 if you do not already have it

x64: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det...x?id=13523

X86: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det...px?id=8328

4) Now that you have patched Dolphin, you can map buttons to your gamepad. If you are using an xbox controller You are in luck! Someone has posted a controller Profile that works perfectly with Skyward Sword! So download http://www.mediafire.com/?4zr3tdl8xc43qhy and place in

Dolphin>User>Config>Profiles>Wiimote (create the Wiimote file if not already there.) Make sure the extension is .ini and not .ini.txt sometimes windows will add .txt to the end of .ini files.

5) Now go to your Wii Remote setup, select Emulated Wiimote and click configure. Make sure your Controller is plugged in/turned on. Select your controller from the Device drop down. Now Select the Profile we just added (should be "Zelda SS (temp)4" if you didn't rename it")

**Finding/Ripping the game is up to you guys. You can transfer your save from your Wii over to Dolphin! (just make sure the copy of SS is from the same region as your save copy. For instance I had a copy of the EU version of SS on Dolphin, and my save game would not read because it came from a US version off my Wii.

Let me know if you have any questions and I can help troubleshoot!

It's fine if he wants to made a "guide" for this since there really is none, but I think we have enough threads about this now. Any further posts should be on topic.

A quick way to get dolphin to create this file for you is to go into your controller setup, and just save a new wii configuration. This will create the the profiles>wiimote.

Thank you, that worked. However when I start the game up it tells me to connect my wiimote and numchuck to wii motion plus accessory. It will not go pass this screen

This has also happened to me a few times.
Things that may help:
-Restart computer
-Make sure xbox controller is on and connected before starting Dolphin
-Make sure the Nunchuck is selected as the Extension.
-Make sure the MotionPlus check box is checked in the Options section.

I'm not sure what causes it exactly but if restarting Dolphin doesn't help, restarting your computer does. Let me know if you get it working!
