In the latest beta version of steam link, usb passthrough is enabled (http://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/dis...152409512/) using virtualhere (https://www.virtualhere.com/usb_client_software). So I thought I'd give the mayflash dolphinbar a go. Virtualhere recognizes the dolphinbar and it seems to connect properly to my pc but dolphin doesn't find the wiimote. When I click 'refresh' to look for the wiimote at the dolphin controller configuration, dolphin freezes for about a minute and then responds normally again but without wiimote functionality. Any thoughts, ideas on how to get it working?

Hi jevcleem! any news on this? i'm also interested in doing the same thing.. I was excited when i heard about Virtualhere update and also thought that would be useful for the dolphinbar..
In the latest steam link beta it said it improved virtualhere support so I gave it another go. Wiimotes still not showing up in dolphin (latest build). It's really strange since windows does detect the mayflash controller drivers and the wiimote connects like usual to the mayflash dolphin bar. This week my wii u gamecube controller will arrive, I am curious if that will work with the steam link, I'll test it out

Has anyone got any further with using the DolphinBar either with Steam Link and/or VirtualHere? Or even perhaps with plain old USBIP?

I haven't tried anything nor I own a Steam Link but my guess here is that the added latency prevents proper communication with Dolphin Bar...

Same story for the wii u gamecube controller adapter. Virtualhere detects it but dolphin doesn't. I don't think it's a latency problem because I tried using another (wireless) controller using virtualhere and I can map the controller in dolphin. And the mayflash dolphinbar isn't wireless so latency should be lower than the aforementioned controller, I guess. It's strange, I think it should work because the mayflash dolphinbar shows up in the control panel and everything.
Well the Steam link dolphin bar combo might not work at the moment. However in the Steam forums a user has posted a success story with a different config. Instead of using the Steam Link as Dolphin Bar USB host, he was using a raspberry pie model b as host and the rest was run through the Steam link (graphics).
I have yet to receive my Dolphin Bar, but I will give this method a shot as soon as I have it (sometimes next week) this might be a final use for my aging PI. Also some users reported sound problems using the integrated VirtualHere host on Steam Link. So offloading the VirtualHere from Steam Link might be worthwhile generally to fix other issues. I almost forgot, detailed install instructions can be found here http://www.virtualhere.com/oem_faq under Linux FAQ, the Raspberry instructions can be copied straightly from the browser to the console. 01-10-2016, 01:33 PM
Hi, i wrote virtualhere and i noticed that steam has put it on their steamlink...
I have written a special driver for windows 10 that is not enabled by default but it might make your dolphin bar work on windows 10. If you have win10 could you try it and see if it works. To use the new driver start the client on windows like this vhui64.exe -3 then when you to go use the dolphin bar it will load the new virtualhere windows 10 specific driver. Can you post here if there are any issues, im not a gamer and dont have steam or the link or any peripherals to test with so any feedback would be good. My window 10 driver is still itself in beta thats why i havent yet enabled it by default in the virtualhere client on windows 10... If there is some problem you can go back to the old virtualhere drivers by just starting the client without the -3 argument Thanks, Michael 01-10-2016, 06:28 PM
Hey guys, made this account just to post this. I currently have dolphin working with steam link; I also have the mayflash dolphin-bar hooked into the steam link using the virtualhere software with the latest beta build. I had no issues with this really; once the vhui software detected dolphin-bar I was able to sync my wiimotes like normal. I currently only use it as a dongle while using this http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/wii-...-bar/75732 as my IR receiver and it works great.
I've been trying to get the Wii U gamecube controller adapter working as well since dolphin supports it so well but even though virtualhere detects it the controllers don't seem to respond. I figure this has something to do with the extra drivers required to run the wii u controller adapter but i'm far from an expert on this type of stuff. If anyone is still having trouble with their mayflash dolphinbar detecting i can post more of my settings if it can help. 01-11-2016, 04:24 AM
Can confirm that with the virtualhere beta software the dolphin bar works on the steamlink, although input latency did seem to be a bit high.
