Hi everyone,

I hope it's okay to bundle a few questions, browsed through this sub and forum, but found no exact match for the issues I have.

1. I have an old controller with wii motion plus adapter and one without, I'm choosing to connect via "emulate wii bluetooth adaper" -> Real Wiimote. I read that I could emulate the motion plus on controllers without the adapter, but since I'm choosing "Real Wiimote" the config options are greyed out. Is it even possible? Tried adding the motion plus connected bit in wiimote config ini file, but it didn't do anything.

2. What is the difference between: bluetooth passthrough, "emulate wii bluetooth adapter" -> "Real Wiimote" and "emulated controller" -> "connect wii mote as emulated controller"? I'm not sure if my using the 2 option is the most optimal. I would use bluetooth passthrough but it seems that I have to open the controller and press sync each time I start Dolphin?

3. My settings are all default with "force 16:9", Vulkan backend, 3X upscale (1080p) and ubershaders, the gameplay is smooth with solid 60 fps except that sometimes dolphin just freezes and then I have to restart it with lost progress which is annoying. Any possible reasons?

Appreciate the help!

1. Not in Real Wiimote. See 2.

2. Bluetooth passthrough: Basically just gives the bluetooth adapter directly to the emulated wii. Can give better results for things like third party controllers and wiimote audio/motions, but basically has no extra features and how well it works (including if it remembers pairings) is adapter dependent.

Real Wiimote: Uses your standard bluetooth stack to handle connections and has little that affects it other than things like emulated speaker data.

Connect wiimote as emulated: Allows you to select connected wii remotes when configuring an emulated controller, and has a profile that gives a mostly normal mapping (other than using motionplus for pointing instead of a sensor bar). This is what you would use for trying to fake motionplus on a real wiimote without it, but IDK how to do that myself.

3. Random freeze might be dual core?

Regarding emulating MotionPlus: While you technically can get Dolphin to emulate MotionPlus, if you do it while using a Wii Remote that doesn't have MotionPlus, games that require MotionPlus still won't be playable. You'll get past the game's MotionPlus check, but the controls won't work right.
