I'm a bit curious to know what the state is of the emulation of the wiimote. Since 100+ revisions (hence a long time) the Wiimote emulation is non-functional. Neither the mouse nor gamepad are recognized. Neither the old nor the new plugin are working. Is anybody working on getting this emulation back working? Or is wiimote emulation dropped and only a real wiimote supported? It's just that a Wii emulator without working wiimote emulation is a bit "incomplete".

You can just press alt + f5 until it says "wiimote connected". You have to do it twice usually. Of course is not a problem fix, but at least you'll be able to use it without major problems.

As mentioned above, the mouse and gamepad are not responding. Pressing mouse button or moving the mouse has no effect. The same with the gamepad. In the config-dialog the pad is responding but while emulating no reaction at all. Can't even get past the initial don't-knock-stuff-over warning since no button (mouse or gamepad) works (and I need an "A" press there to get beyond). This work a lot of revision earlier and then once upon time stopped working. Don't know anymore since which revision it is broken but it doesn't work since a long time (100+ revisions for sure).

Personally I'd like to use the gamepad instead of the mouse as it has more options but neither of the two works.

I'd love to get a definitive answer on how to configure the Emulated wiimote for a gamepad. If anyone has this working can they share their config? Pleeeease??? Confused

There's no definite answer. depending on your gamepad and if the wiimote has extensions connected, the optimal config will vary. Especially the motion stuff varies from game to game, as you can't get all of them on your game pad, you will have to pick the ones your game need. I know configuring this is troublesome for some people, but there's isn't any database of reccomended configs around. You could request a config for a specific game and gamepad, then maybe someone would provide it.
Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
