Hey guys and gals,

I'm trying to get The Force Unleashed for the Wii working, no matter which plug ins and settings I use it always crashes when I start it up. Does anyone know which settings should and should not be enabled for it to work? I've tried both the PAL and NTSC version and they both crash at start up. I'm using the currently released beta on the main page (r3972) Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! <3

Update to the latest revision either in my signature or in the General SVN Forum. 3972 is nearly 400 revs behind, there have bene significant changes between then and now.

Can you confirm Force Unleashed works with a newer beta build? Id much rather wait till the official website has it on their download page instead of downloading somebodies random build...

...Ive also read that some of the newer revisions slow down games as opposed to speeding them up...

If anyone has got this game working on the Wii somehow, please let me know!

I don't have the game, so I cannot test it, but from what I've heard, it has graphical issues.

On the subject of updating... their builds are the same as all others. There's nothing special about them, other than the fact that they were built by the devs themselves, they have nothing special in them at all, they are just the exact build at that SVN revision. These "somebodies random builds" are still the same hard work that the devs pour into this emu, just are much more recent SVN builds with some slight modifications/patches to either add different functionality(OpenAL), options(Unlimited JIT Cache option in the main options window) or possibly attempt to fix something and have it tested so that they can provide some patches to the devs and save the devs from having to worry about minuscule problems that would otherwise take the place of further development time.

There's nothing "beta" about them, in that aspect they are ALL beta, INCLUDING the builds listed on the main website.

But that's true, SOME of the newer revs slow down SOME games because they are getting closer to perfecting the emulation. So more resources are required to compensate for these new found features and compatibility fixes. They are working towards complete compatibility, NOT performance right now. And by doing so it's taking a little more toll on the CPU/GPU. Performance/Optimization comes AFTER compatibility/functionality in any application.

Thanks for the insightful information Unknownforce. I don't want to say I'm paranoid but definitely a little skeptical about downloading builds that random people put up instead of the main page ones. (I don't know what could be in those builds) I will try your build soon and see how that goes, thanks again! Heart

No problem, I understand being skeptical. I am that way myself, but people don't make the sticky section in a moderated forum by releasing crap or viruses Smile Plus there's always http://www.virustotal.com! Heart

Now, my build thread currently is not stickied, it used to be ages ago, but I fell off the ball a while back and stopped updating for a long period of time... so it was removed because it was so outdated, but I've been back at it for the last, I dunno, thousand? revs and plan to continue updating them as I can. I work two jobs, so it's hard to do sometimes, but thankfully I can access my home PC from one job that I can update at almost anytime I need to. I don't expect them to re-sticky mine nor do I really care if they do or not as I update them often enough to keep it around the top of the forum anyways.
