I attached my blurry one with a slight sharpness boost which is about equal... which gives me an idea that it might be possible to apply filters through imagemagick command line, so generated mipmaps could come out looking sharper.

I really think you should apply this as a default! Smile

However, it surprises me that the texture pack decreases performance so much because other packs don't seem to at all.

Could it be your VRAM? Your signature says your GPU has 1GB? I have 4GB to work with.

Yeah, that might be it >_<

I have updated my mipmap generating script to include applying a sharpness filter to the generated images. When you run the script, just enter a value from 0 to 3, ranging from no sharpness to lots of sharpness. If you want I can generate the mips for you again, for now I did not in case you want to choose your own quality level.

It still requires the base texture to be in the same folder with the script. I was thinking it would be really hot if it could recursively go through each directory and detect textures with _m_ flag and generate all mips found in all folders, but this may take me some time to implement if I can.

This is a quick comparison from 0-3, might be hard to see the difference without overlapping images, and I probably could have picked a better test texture. Personal results are probably the best place to make judgements for which setting to use anyway.

Edit1: Actually, I'm really close to accomplishing it. So hold off on generating mipmaps. Tongue

Edit²: Ok I've done it! This you will enjoy, it will generate all mipmaps everywhere and with a sharpness filter!

Just copy it to your base texture directory (GSWE64), run it, and pick a sharpness setting. It will automatically delete all old mipmaps before generating new ones (textures with mip#), and it will target only mipmap textures (textures with m flag) to generate mipmaps for. It can navigate through any level of subfolders, so you don't have to worry about anything. I tested several times on your Rogue Leader pack and the Xenoblade pack and it seems to work well. So far, you will have 1483 mipmaps generated. Tongue

As always it needs ImageMagick, and the path to it must be configured in the script itself. Or, you can install it to "C:\Program Files\ImageMagick" which is the default directory set. I can still think of ways to improve it, but I'm not sure how much more can be done in batch. Tongue

Yep good idea I can use a beer (cracks one open Smile). I wrote up a little more in-depth of all it does here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-new-dolphin-custom-texture-format?pid=357444#pid357444 although it's pretty straightforward (gets rid of old mipmaps, makes new ones) so its probably more info than needed.

Oh I should add it does take some time to generate all the images, but still much faster than doing it all manually!
