It has been long overdue, but it is finally coming: Star Fox 64 HD. It is yet another porting project in order to bring the HD experience from Nintendo 64 emulators such as Project64 towards Dolphin's Virtual Console. The time to fully realize Star Fox 64! What might be next? Honestly, no clue. Perhaps yet another N64 title for the VC.

This texture pack is based on porting textures from Project64 (Nintendo 64) texture packs, just like my other texture packs. Check out my signature for links for my other texture packs of N64 games for Dolphin (Virtual Console or GameCube re-release).

Texture Pack status

- Current version is: 0.1.
- Both the PNG and DDS pack are uploaded and are NOT optimized through optiPNG yet.
- Both packs are packed in the 7-zip format. You might need to download 7-zip to unpack them. Newer versions of WinRAR should work too.
- 359 textures ported so far
- Supported Mario Kart 64 versions: NTSC-U (PAL and NTSC-J should work too).
- DDS BC7 pack requires around 250 MB of RAM while the PNG pack requires around 940 MB of RAM.
- Use the latest development build or the latest Ishiiruka build which allows for DDS BC7 support and decreased RAM usage for DDS BC7 packs. These features are not available for the older stable 5.0 build.

Known Issues

- Planet in the planet selection or highscore list have a rotation special effect which is dumped an infinite amount of times. Ain't gonna happen. You won't miss much through.

The texture pack is far from finished. But I wanted to at least have a start on it.

Razius should be fine with it (which Star Fox 64 HD is primary based on as a porting project).

I'm not mad at all, actually, i'm glad about the sm64 port, i think i saw it sometimes in the summer, when i was really busy, so i didn't leave any feedback. I might release some new files for the SM64 project. I also wanted to retexture all the backgrounds for it but it took forever to map those sky boxes. Actually i think i have 2 skyboxes i never released because i didin't map them, not sure, must check the backup.

I don't mind people using textures (esp fonts or HUD elements) i've released for their own projects.

Actually i wish ppl would continue retexturing Super Paper Mario, after TTYD is done. Especially since lots of textures are shared between the 2 games, so all you have to do is take them from TTYD and recolor them if necessary.

Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
1. You are free to use any of the files from this pack for your own RETEXTURE project as LONG as it's not for the SAME game (you can use my Super Mario Sunshine textures for your own Super Mario Galaxy or SM64 project but NOT for Super Mario Sunshine), but you'd have to point the link to the Dolphin forums thread of the pack you used the files from (you don't have to say who created them, just link it).
2. You can use the textures for any non Dolphin related project (no matter the game), such as this gem.
3. If you wanna make an Ishiiruka materials update for this pack, similar to formfactor's Super Mario Galaxy material packs, contact me, since i can provide you with flatter textures so you can add depth through the material map (AFAIK there are some issues with materials on SMSS). In this case, you can either upload the material files and the NEW base textures (the flat ones i'll provide or my files that you've edited to flatten our through some detail removing technique) on your own thread but you cannot release the other files in my pack. Basically, your pack will be an update that users should copy over my pack.
4. If you wanna use my projectas a starting point (or use them as PLACEHOLDERS while u build up your project) or wanna take over one of my projects, CONTACT me.
The limitations are meant to keep my packs from being mixed up with subpar quality textures, therefore the limitations do not apply to the people who value quality above all (their textures are way better than my amateurish stuff) such as: CDAMJC, BigHead, Invader, Admentus, Techie Android, , . Check their work to see what i'm talking about.

I was given permission to port his previous texture pack (Super Mario 64), I have informed him now too and he mentioned several times (includings PM's where he shared textures with me) he was OK with his textures being used.

As usual, let me know if I messing something up and I'll fix it.

Next up. Update V2.8 for Zelda 64 HD.

It's still very early in progress. I haven't made much progress since V0.1 yet, because Majora's Mask.

Yup. Still focusing on the Zelda 64 4K texture pack.
