SSBB "Unknown pointer 0xffffffff Continue?"

Hi.
im having an issue with a copy of NTSC SSBB.
when i finish a match with the pokemon trainer i get this error:

"Unknown pointer 0xffffffff Continue?"

and then the game freeze's.

tried several things but nothing works...
anyone know's how to fix this??
