What' screen resolution do you have dolphin set to?
Unless your screen resolution is low it shouldn't.
That funny thing is if you made that "mistake" you would be right. Fractional + no SSAA will yield the same image quality as fractional + 4xSSAA.
I was simply stating two things in my post:
1. Fractional is superior to 1x, period. It's a higher scale so it will always yield better image quality.
2. With a high efb scale 4xSSAA will not change the image quality in any way. It will only improve things if your efb scale is low because of the scale multiplier it adds.
Try comparing fractional + no ssaa to 1x + no ssaa and you'll see that I'm right about number 1. Then try comparing fractional + no ssaa against fractional + 4xssaa and you'll see that I'm right about number 2. I would not make either claim if they couldn't be easily proven.
I'm not trying to attack you or anything, just pointing out these facts so that you can understand what's going on.
Based on the dimensions of that screen shot the game is probably running at 1024 x 576. At that resolution any difference between them is very small, but you're probably right.
Fractional @ 1024 x 576 + 4xSSAA = 2048 x 1152
1x scale + 4xSSAA = 1280 x 1056
Both are much higher than the output resolution so any difference would be extremely small and difficult to notice.
Quote:Hmmm, did some comparisons today, and did discover that fractional, while using SSAA 4x, does produce the same visual quality as 1x at SSAA 4x.
Unless your screen resolution is low it shouldn't.
Quote:You guys were right, I apologize. I was mistaking SSAA OFF at fractional with SSAA 4x at EFB 1x. My bad. Wink

Quote:It's probably my eye's right now because it's late but isn't the SSAA 4x + Fractional look a tiny little bit better??
