Sprite issue

Hello, I've been getting into Soul Eater Monotone Princess and couldn't help but notice the sprites aren't quite put together. I've noticed the game on disc doesn't have this issue at all, so i'm guessing it's an emulator issue?

Oh no at the time I made this profile, I was using Dolphin to emulate Call of Duty: Black Ops zombies which that only worked with certain versions of Dolphin 3.5. For this game I've been running it off of Ishiiruka-Dolphin 1063 which is pretty much higher up to date than the standard version of Dolphin 5.0. I also noticed friends and youtube vids running this off a dolphin emulator have the same problem.

Ishiiruka is a heavily modified fork of Dolphin. You'll have to see if Tino (Ishiiruka's maintainer) can sort things out. We only support the official builds (e.g. from this site's buildbot). If you still get that error with the latest Dolphin builds, then we'll see if there's anything we can help with.

I just tested it out on bot Dolphin 3.5 and Dolphin 5.0-11105 and the same thing is happening in both of them.

Additionally, try playing the game at native resolution and see if it still happens. If the image looks fine at 1x, it's probably a scaling bug when Dolphin is drawing stuff at higher than native resolutions (texture coordinates off by a few decimals?)

So I lowered down the resolution to native (640x528) and still see it (though not as vividly) and I tried testing it on other backends but Direct3D 11 only really showcased certain files or parts of the game. From my judgement it looked like it was unable to read the .tpl files which I'm pretty sure are the images like the main menu, boot up screen, etc.. making it difficult to navigate anything yet it somehow seemed to read the other files okay like video and sound from what I saw.  But then again it says "You may still use this backend, but you might encounter graphical artifacts" while also saying my system lacks the support features needed most likely because I'm using Windows 7. So that's not really an issue. And I got the same message with Vulkan except with that one it just completely crashes. Seems like my only option is with OpenGL D:

Yes, these sorts of misaligned sprite issues have plagued Dolphin for ages.

Currently the Dolphin devs seem to have no interest in correcting it. I think their belief is that it only effects titles run at higher than default internal resolutions, even though with careful image inspection it does effect titles at 1x resolution (this may also be the case on real hw, but that's unclear).

Have you tried turning off Anti-aliassing and anisotropic filtering? As well as the checkbox that says to always filter?
Fire emblem also has this kind of error (except they are purple borders) and this fixed them. Then there is the half pixel offset checkbox, have you tried that?

Hey, so actually this whole time I've been having no anti-aliasing and had the anisotropic filtering set to 1x (which seems to be the closest to off as I can get it) and for the check box that says to always filter.. I do not see one that says that but I can tell you I have Force Texture Filtering unchecked and have Disable Copy Filter checked which you can find those under the enhancement tab of the Graphics Configuration. Now for the half pixel offset, I don't know what that is or where to find it on dolphin so if you could either give me the proper name and/or location where I can find the checkbox that says To Always Filter and the other one that is the Half Pixel Checkbox, that would be awesome and I'd be delighted to give it a try . Oh and a name of the version of Dolphin that you are currently using would be nice too because I noticed the different versions sometimes have different names for things on their menus, so yeah that would be great!
