Having a weird speed problem with my Dolphin, I'm pretty much a giant noob at emulating so I apologize if I come off stupid here.

I've found that when I play a game everything moves very slowly, my window usually says (FPS30 VPS 30 Speed 40%) And I don't know what's going on. I've tried messing with the settings etc etc etc but I can't seem to get it any higher. Do you guys have any advice, or where I can find a settings profile I could copy over or SOMETHING so that I can try these out.

For the record: I'm only playing GC games, no interest in the Wii games.

Is there any other way to speed this up? My computer should emulate a gamecube game easily in my opinion. Even Mario Kart is running at 18 FPS with about 75% speed. This just doesn't seem right to me.

I'd rather avoid OCing my CPU if possible (I didn't need to google it.) As my computer is...fragile, at the moment. And I can't afford to replace it if I damage something.

Thank you for your reply though. =]

My computer is far more poweful than yours and I still have issues emulating some gamecube games.

The emulator isn't finished but even when/if it is, it's never going to be light on system requirements.

Take a look at the wiki page for the game you're trying to play or try reducing the resolution or go look at the performance guide.
But don't expect miracles, generally the more powerful your PC the better your framerate, so if you're comfortable with overclocking your CPU you should do it.

I'd suggest trying these quick changes to your settings first however:

#1 Open the DSP config and make sure HLE is selected, HLE is faster LLE is more accurate.
#2 Open the Gaphics Config and open the Hacks tab, under EFB copies untick RAM, less accurate but more speed
#3 Still in the graphics config hacks tab, Tick Skip EFB Access from CPU
#4 Still in the graphics config, go to the enhancements tab and set the internal resolution to the lowest setting possible, see if you get a playable speend and then slowly up the resolution if you do.

Keep two things in mind:
-These settings will break certain games.
-This is no garuntee of playable speed, just your best chance at it.
CPU: AMD Phenom II 960 x4 3.4GHz
RAM: Corsair 1333MHz DDR3 x 4GB
GPU: ASUS Radeon 5870 1GB
OS: Windows 7 x64 Premium
