Speech bubbles appear, but screen is black

Hello, I just downloaded Dolphin 4.0 for Mac and I’ve been experiencing a rather frustrating issue. After I load the game and get past the title screen, everything goes black except for character speech bubbles. Sound/music is fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Any help would be great!

Bad game file probably. Try re-imaging your disc on to your computer, some weird error may have occurred.

EDIT: Is this a similar problem for all your games? Try playing a different game to see if it is a game problem or emulator problem.

The problem only arises with that game, so I don't know. And no matter what I do, the screen remains black save for the speech bubbles.

Did you try imaging the game again and/or getting a different copy of the game?

Yes, I've tried this multiple time. Unfortunately the problem persists. The title screen comes up, but after I press "start", the action remains black except for text.

The wiki is omniscient.

Always look on the wiki when having issues. In any case, enable EFB copies in the graphics settings (or hacks I forget which one it's in) and it should fix your problem.

I'm sorry. I really am new to this. Next time, I promise to check the wiki thoroughly before posting to the forum.

I followed the configurations, and all the issues resolved themselves.

You should also update to OSX 10.10, it has better drivers
