TP is not going to run well on a Q6600 at its stock core clock frequency (2.4GHz). I know because I have one.

It looks like this thread has been long since abandoned, but i'll ask anyway cause nobody has given me straight answer yet... lol
how well will twilight princess (and/or Super Mario Galaxy) work with this setup:
Intel Core i3-3240 @ 3.4GHz
Radeon HD 6670
8 GB of DDR3 RAM

Zelda TP - Hyrule Field later part + LLE audio used to require i5 3570k @ 4.5GHz to run full speed (latest revision is even more demanding)
Super Mario Galaxy + LLE = i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz
Your CPU will not run these 2 games full speed with LLE , not even close . New AX HLE is a bit less demanding than LLE but still...
SMG is the most GPU intensive game . Your GPU will bottleneck/slowdown the CPU if you play game at high internal resolution such as 3xIR(1920x1584) or 4xIR (2560x2112)
If your 6670 is a GDDR5 version , you will have much better performance than DDR3 version
Laptop: (Show Spoiler)
Clevo W230SS : 3200x1800 IPS | i7 4700MQ @ 3.6GHz (Intel XTU + Triple fan mod) | GTX 860M GDDR5 | 128GB Toshiba CFD SSD | 16GB DDR3L 1600MHz
Aspire 715 43G : 1080p 144Hz |  R5 5625U @ 4.3GHz | Nvidia RTX 3050 4GB | 500GB WD SSD  | 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
Mini PC :: (Show Spoiler)
G3258 @ 4.6GHz | ELSA GTX 750 | Asrock Z87E ITX | 600W SFX 80+ Gold Silverstone + SG06-LITE | Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2000MHz | Scythe Kozuti + Ao Kaze | 45TB 2.5" Ex HDD (in total) , Zelda Gold Wiimote , LE Wii Classic Controller , Gold LE PS3 DualShock , BlackWidow Chroma ,
Now Playing : Xenoblade Definitive Edition on Yuzu - Switch Emu

I'm confused... I can run Twilight Princess and Wind Waker at full speed (at 2.5x resolution nonetheless) on an i5 2.5 gHz, and an Intel Graphics 4000.

will it help the GPU if I overclock it?
and at very best, how many FPS on average will I get for both games? like after I toned down the settings a bit, so it will be less demanding?

Could you give more details on your CPU? what version of i5?

Not in hyrule field further in the game.

No.

This isn't an exact science. Go try it.

This is assuming that you've already "toned down" every other setting except the dsp emulator.

So I'm assuming an i5 will work better then an i3, so would a Core i5 3350P @ 3.1GHZ run Twilight Princess better or full speed, compared to my i3 I suggested earlier?

I've also upgraded my Radeon HD 6670 to GDDR5 instead of DDR3, so that should help there with Super Mario Galaxy lol

just wondering if its worth taking off 4 GB of ram (got a tight budget) to upgrade to i5 CPU
