Hey there Smile
Yeah, that's an awesome PC, better than mine at all.
Like you mentioned QuadCore means nothing especially with Dolphin.
But I guess you'll use your PC not just for Dolphin,
so you can stick with it Big Grin

That system should run dolphin fine. My somewhat modest HTPC (specs in signature) handles most games, both wii and gamecube, pretty acceptable. Havent really come across a working game that has been unplayble. And without a doubt my GFX card is the weakest component in that setup.

Core2Duo CPUs are probably considered better, cause of their higher clock speeds. Since dolphin doesnt know what to do with a quad core cpu anyways :p

That GPU(9400GT) will probably be enough for dolphin, but not for modern pc games. Pick something else if it is possible.

You might want to try the 9600GT TOP, my friend bought it a few months ago and it's the most wired and most awesome card I've ever seen.
At first, it's overclocked by default by what I've heard.
Second important point is that it somehow enables DirectX 10 Features under WindowsXP!
Don't ask me how and why, I've seen it live at my friend!
Oh and by the way, he was running Crysis Warhead on "Enthusiast" (Highest) settings.
And it's only ~100$, pretty cheap imo.
But that has been a few months ago, I don't know if there is anything better for the price out there.

the cheapest 9800GT costs 89euro here in germany (here the tax already is included in the price).
with a 9400GT you will have problems in resolutions higher than 1024x768 (because it is an onboard derivate)

Ummmm, I have a 9400 GT PCI-E and it handles resolutions above that without even breaking a sweat. I won't say a 9800 GT isn't better, but to say 9400 has problems above 1024x768 is not accurate.
