Sound issues in Baten Kaitos Origins

Hello !

First post here so I don't know if I make things right. I tried to look for an other thread which has my issue but couldn't find anything.

My issue is the following : in the first minutes of Baten Kaitos Origins, the BGM of the first area doesn't trigger until the moment I enter in the first combat phase. From this moment, all the sounds of the game are completely broken regardless the audio backend I'm using (Cubeb or WASAPI)

This is an issue that doesn't happen in older versions (using the XAudio2 audio backend).

I'm on the version 5.0-11830. I tried several versions like 5.0-3930 or 5.0-1333 which doesn't have any problem. I hope there's a solution.

What are all of your audio settings? What is the exact version of dolphin that stopped working?

Sorry for my late answer.

Here is a screenshot with all my audio settings in the version of Dolphin I'm using right now (5.0-11830) :

I don't know the exact version of Dolphin that started to have this issue. The only thing I know from the tests I'm making right now is that it's between the version 5.0-11450 and 5.0-11501. I'm continuing to navigate through the versions list to see if I can be more precise about the version number. I'll post that information later on.

I'll probably stay with the last version I'll find OK in order to play but maybe it can be helpfull to those who have a better technical knowledge than me to see if it's something which is fixable. Big Grin

Ok, so I have the last known working version. It's the version 5.0-11458.
Every newer version in the list available in the download page have this issue. To be honest, I don't know if other game are affected by this issue.

I was going to say that that bisect makes no sense, as 11458 is a Mac-only change, but you probably mean that 11458 is the *last working version*, not the *first broken version*. In which case we're talking about 11476, which does certainly seem plausible to be related to this issue.

Yes, sorry if my previous message was not clear. The version 11458 is the last working version.

Yeah as far as i know the Baten Kaitos games use audio streaming/DTK audio, so that PR could be related. I guess, i'll have to check if Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is broken too, as i have that one.

Hm, they aren't on the list of DTK games... But at least the first Baten Kaitos does set the DTK flag in its header. So maybe?

It has a similar issue according to https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/11997.
