I loaded up Sonic Colors with Dolphin 4.0 and I cant get past the start screen. It say "Press START" and I cant DO IT!!!

I dont know the specs for the pc, but its plenty fast enough to run this game. Ive played Mario Galaxy 2 and it runs great. I set the 'shake' buttons to z, x and c. Im not sure if it always said this, but since Ive scoured the internet for help, I think it started telling me that I am 'using a gamecube controller'. Either way, Ive hit every button on my keyboard and the only buttons that work are my 'shake' button of X which skips the first couple screens of videos, and the arrow keys, which move the camera.

I dont know the specs of the computer. Its using Windows... whatever windows comes after Windows 8. I get fed up with microsoft and dont keep up with this crap anymore. Sorry! I seriously doubt its a performance issue, though. I cant really say much else about the PC. Its a laptop. 17" screen. Intel Pentium B960.... Intel HD Graphics..... 4 GB RAM. Cant say much else. You can probably imagine by now that its not my computer.

Thank you for your help!

Edit: Sound question on the 4th post!

You've certainly got that right. As much as everyone complains about performance here, sometimes it's just completely fucking irrelevant to the problem.

If it tells you you're "using a GameCube controller", you might want to a) set Wiimote > Wiimote 1 to "None" and click the "GCPad" button to see the default GameCube controller controls, or b) set Config > GameCube > Port 1 to "None" and figure out the game's Wii Remote controls. A lot of games support both Wii Remotes and GameCube controllers, thus you occasionally run into conflicts between the controls if you have them both enabled.

Ok Ive got one more issue that would be nice to have solved.

Sound.

It skips. Its annoying. Can I fix this?

Ive tried many different options including setting the frame rate to 0 and directX 10 vs 9 and I was gonna try to "enable audio Throttle" but I couldnt find the option.

Oce again I cant find anything on google.

You got used to the buggy-but-fast old builds, don´t you? Tongue

When it skips/stutters, it´s a sign of your CPU being too weak for the game you´re playing.

And the option you mentioned was removed from Dolphin (centuries?) ago, and probably replaced with the "Audio" option in the frame limiter.

ah hell ok. But Super Mario Galaxy 2 works just fine. Fast as could be on highest resolution! Sonic isnt that much more intensive, is it?
