I have gotten my other Wii games to work with a USB gamepad (games that allow classic controller use) but I cannot get Sonic Colors to work. It is one of the games that allow the classic controller so I dont understand why I am having problems. When I first start the game, it says to I am using a gamecube controller and tells me to press a but I cant. and when it gets to the main screen it says to press start but I cant. Ive tried all my buttons and changed controller settings and stuff but I cant get it to work. Any suggestions? thanks

I cant get this to work either. I have disabled the GC pad in the GameCube tab of the DSP settings, have my 360 controller configured as a GC under the GC pad settings but no joy. Am I missing something?
Sonic Colors starts but refused to register any inputs from my pad... Cheers
In Dolphin, press Config=>Gamecube, then under "Device Settings" set "Port 1" to "<Nothing>".
The game automatically sets your input method to the controller that's currently connected to the console (emulator). However, if both a Gamecube controller and any kind of Wii-only controller are connected, the game will choose the GC controller over the Wii controller. I'd recommend to use an emulated GC controller rather than an emulated classic controller in games where it's possible though: *It'd solve you this problem (it's kind of a hassle to disable your GC controller temporarily just for this game in case you do play GC games with this emulator, really) *Some games only support the GC controller and not the classic controller so it's easier *You won't have to switch profiles in the Emulated Wiimote settings for classic controller *To me, the GC controls setup is a little more comfortable than the CC controls setup in Sonic Unleashed Wii. I don't think there's a difference between the two in Sonic Colors though. 08-10-2011, 06:39 AM

I'm using 3DVision & 3DTV Play, basically when enabled it was blocking the pad input (WiiMote was fine).Checking the background input option made my 360 pad spring to life. I have to agree about the GC Pad over the Classic controller point. I play a bit of both so it does save time and effort. Thanks again. |
