sonic and the secret rings error

hi everyone!!!!!
i am having a small problem with dolphin i cant put a finger on it.....
you see i am a sonic fan and i installed sonic and the secret rings which took three days
pal
and when i took openGL as graphics and play it suddenly it loads and a black screen comes up and a few seconds later the not responding thingy comes up....................
and when i take d3d9 it is damn slow and when i play the first level (inside the book)3,2,1 takes a whole five minutes when it is supposed to take 5 seconds...........................and the level does not show up if you

intel®pentium 4 cpu 3.40 ghz,3.39 ghz,1.00 gb of ram
physical adress extension
and graphics
ATIfiregl v3100
ATIfiregl v3100 secondary

AND I AM 32 BIT......

and the sound evan crackles

1. use the drivers from the ATI Homepage
2. It won´t be fast
3.use the newest rev.

now i updated to version directx 10
everything is better exept the levels
i cant play the first level some kind of glitchty things are happening
but i will do AS you say

and when i take openGL the small black screen comes up
but after some seconds dolphin stops responding
any soloutions????????
