Alright, so I was just tinkering around with ways to play some of my favorite Wii games on Dolphin. For fun, I decided to try and play House of the Dead 2 & 3 Returns with the Nunchuck's stick for aiming (since I don't have a Dolphin bar.) I applied all the settings, and while I noticed that the Nunchuck wasn't moving the cursor, something else was... My Wii Remote's IR sensor. For some reason, despite no mappings being applied to it, my computer's CAMERA was acting like a sensor bar and the Wii Remote's IR pointer was communicating to it and allowing me to point and shoot like on a usual Wii. Sure, it was incredibly broken, but it still worked. I am incredibly confused on how this happened. Just for a heads up, I put the Wii Remote on "Emulated Wii Remote" on Wii Remote 1. That's how I mapped the Nunchuck to the cursor and ended up getting this result. I am posting this to see if: 1. Anybody knows how this happened, and 2. if there's a way to do this but with a better, more accurate and less broken pointer. Thanks!

I don't believe it could have been the IR camera. First, the Wii Remote's IR functionality needs something in front of the Wii Remote which emits IR light. Something which just detects IR light is of no use. Second, when mapping a Wii Remote to an emulated Wii Remote, the IR camera inside the Wii Remote is disabled. Instead, Dolphin tries to emulate the pointer using data gathered from the accelerometer and gyroscope (assuming you have MotionPlus, as you don't have a gyroscope otherwise). Perhaps that is what you actually encountered.

Well, that's actually pretty cool! Thanks for telling me what happened.
