Question
I know what you're thinking. "You idiot! invisible coin blocks are SUPPOSED to be in the game!"

Well not like this. ALL the coin blocks are invisible. In fact, all the blocks period are invisible. So are coins. It's funny, I don't recall this being standard when I played on my vanilla Wii. I feel like I'm in ProtonJon's hell, where all coin blocks are invisible and all courses are Kaizo.

My specs are as follows:

Graphics: ATI Raedon 5870 w/850MHz
Processor: Phenom X4 9750 quad-core 2.4 GHz
System: Windows 7 64 bit.
8GB of RAM

Also, I get critical slowdown. Is it me not tweaking the settings right or my system being crappy? I'm not sure where I stand on the hardware spectrum. Last I checked, it was about the middle.
One last question: Is the best way to play my Wii games via download? I don't have the right drive for Rawdump, and my Wii is across the country, yet the legit games are in my hand. It just bothers me that I can't play it is all.

So in summation, my 3 questions are:
1. WTF is with the invisible coin blocks?!?!
2. My critical slowdown is caused by...what?
3. Pirating is necessary even though I'm holding the games?

Thank you all for your time.

Use Dolphin 3.0 and put EFB Copies to RAM

Wow, your CPU is not good enough to keep up with the 5870.
Which also answers your 2nd question; you'll have to get a different CPU if you want better a CPU/GPU balance.

What performance do you get right now?

When was the last time you checked? Tongue
Your CPU needs an update, your GPU is pretty good.

Even if you own a legit copy of the game if you download the game that is considered piracy and will get you banned on these forums. You're supposed to dump them with your wii and if you don't have your wii with you that is not our problem.

Understood. I will see what I can do.

As far as Dolphin is concerned, not great. I'll need to run tests to determine exact numbers. Otherwise, I'm doing ok as far as speed is concerned.

And putting EFB copies to RAM will solve my coin problem then, LordVador?

Yes, but keep in mind it will lower your speed even more.

Interesting. So, the recommended course of action is... get a faster CPU?

Wow this is embarrassing...

How would I put the EFB copies to RAM? I would assume it's a checkbox I need to check?

Yes, in the graphics settings under the hacks tab I believe. In the efb copies section check the box that says ram and uncheck virtual.
