(SOLVED)steam overlay dosent work on dolphin

im not sure if its been asked before but for me the steam overlay simply doesn't work for me not in desktop mode nor big picture mode. i googled and asked for help elsewhere but they say that shouldn't be happening. i thought that maybe a beta build broke steam compatibility but others say it works fine.
some say shouldn't run as admin and other stuff. how do i go about this?

Sometimes your video drivers just don't let it happen. I've had it break after updates, then come back some time later. I'd suggest toying around with drivers.

how can i debug to find out what it is. because everyone is looking at me like im crazy and its EXTREMELY annoying because i cant at all play dolphin on my pc because i cant use my steam controller (now my only controller) but everyone else can.

I don't know man. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Drivers are finicky in my experience.

edit idk why but for some reason it now works XD i did nothing different besides not touching it for 2 days and now it works. i can use my steam controller and dolphin in bpm.
