Same thing for me. I've been waiting for THE game (or two Tongue) that would decide me either for 3DS either for Vita

I can only speak for myself when I say that the PS Vita sucks, there's not a single game for me to look forward to.

You want a good alternative, go PSP-2000 with CFW.
Why?
- NES, GB, GBC, GBA and SNES emulators almost perfectly.
- The ability to play ripped PSX game ISOs converted to EBOOTS

But if I were in the position like you and had to choose between the 3DS and the PS Vita, I'd choose the 3DS in a heartbeat.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Resident Evil Revelations, upcoming Luigi's Mansion 2, upcoming Paper Mario 3D, upcoming Super Smash Bros, future Mario - Zelda - Metroid titles etc. is good enough reasons to choose the 3DS.
I can almost guarantee that the 3DS have better graphics then the PS Vi(s)ta too.
The way Resident Evil Revelation looks is AMAZING for being a title on a portable console, almost mouth watering.

Yes I've been waiting for the Metroid and a Castlevania. A great RPG (FF?) could decide me too. And no Star Wars games announced 'til now Tongue

I can say with confidence that a Metroid title is almost 100% certain for the 3DS, I would be really surprised if they didn't released one.

Castlevania, only heard rumors about it so far. But thankfully a sequel to Lords of Shadows is in the making, that's something spectacular to look forward too.

I've never really been fond of handheld systems (my brother is so I know where to go when I wanna play Tongue). Thanks to emulators I can play my games with a laptop when I travel and it does the job but this time I guess I'm gonna do an exception. These new systems seem really impressive Wink

I guess it's different for us then, me I have always had a small crush on handheld systems.
I still remember my first love with the old white/grey Game Boy with Zelda Link's Awakening, Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land.

I love the 3DS, it's like a portable Wii filled with all that amazing Nintendo magic.

Of course I've played GB/GBA/DS/PSP but I can't play for a long time. My old eyes can't support it I guess Big Grin. More seriously I've always prefered playing on a TV, on my sofa, with my gamepad and a beer. But I recognize the "convenient" side of handheld systems and as I said before when I discovered emulation (not so long time ago Tongue) I was very amazed and delighted (PC games had done the job 'til there of course)

Ha ha you make it sound that you're an old man or something, I'm guessing you're in the 30's or so.
But yeah I know what you mean, portables with small screens is not suited for a 5 hour run that's for sure.

And it's definitely a whole other feeling sitting in a sofa with a controller.

So I went to the local game store yesterday, NBA2K12 and Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City just had to go (I didn't trade Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City for Revelations like I wanted to the first time)

I can't believe I'm saying this but I traded them for the Kid Icarus Uprising complete package with the game, 3DS stand and a deck of collection cards + a separate deck of Kid Icarus collection cards.
I know I know I have said that I hated the game but it was a good deal anyway from a collectors point of view.

Even if the game sucks, it's still a Kid Icarus game and a nice trophy in the collection.

So I guess that concludes the journey of a lousy Resident Evil game...
