Err, no. Have you met the NVIDIA Shield TV? That's the currently best "mobile" device for the Android port at the moment.

Nah, STV isn't really a mobile device as it's not thermal limited

Back to topic, I have the 808 powered Robin in hand. So far my experience with dolphin (and use in general) has been very weird. The Robin has an incredibly intelligent power governor, and ramping up for use is not an issue. I haven't tested dolphin for an extended time frame but initially the Robin was able to correctly hit 1.8GHz on the A57's. I will do an extended stress test in the next hour or so and report back.

So after quite a bit of time testing wind walker under various conditions and with various settings, I can safely conclude that it runs like a dog. On the bright side even after an hour of straight emulation the device didn't throttle (although the temps were damn high), but the 808 simply isn't putting enough grunt in. Single digit frame rates were incredibly common, most of the time it was 4-8 FPS. Even the menu lagged. The intro video did not though which at least means things work. Driver bugs were abundant and honestly ****ing hilariously bad. Right off the bat the cartoon alpha smoke doesn't even blend properly. What a joke. Anyways, idk if this is really a full tilt 808 example, as I have observed the Robin having a very very opportunistic CPU governor (which doesn't affect normal games but I imagine with dolphin it tries to claw back more battery life than the testing metrics would call for). Overall it's acceptable for testing basic functionality but it's not even remotely worth using. It was cool that the device didn't throttle but clearly even with that performance is low (which is weird, I remember the S810 fared better even with the throttling).

Hello nintonito,

Did you apply for the nougat beta? Or you are using the Nextbit Robin with Android 6?,  I tell you this because I also have the same phone and my experience using dolphin with the nougat beta is radically diferent that with Android 6 and this is because the nougat beta comes with open gl es 3.2 Qualcomm drivers while the Android 6 version comes with open gl 3.1

Also with the nougat beta all the graphics error are corrected, again this is because of the new open gl 3.2 drivers included.

I really strongly advise that you apply to the beta, your experience with dolphin will be much better although not.perfect by any means but you will have much better fps.

Shooting this thread back as I've recently tested the Robin again after the android 7.0 beta update, which brings ES3.2 (sadly the beta does not implement Vulkan yet, so that remains untested). Regardless, huge performance and accuracy increases on ES3.2. Went from single digit frame rates to 15-20FPS. Only downside, nougat introduced a tighter thermal threshold and throttling does kick in, however it's not terribly severe (1.4GHz lowest down from 1.8GHz max). Considering it's a beta firmware (and very much halfway done) I was very impressed by how testable dolphin became.
