The GT 1030 is pretty much exactly where you would expect it to be in performance. Right around the _50 card from 2 generations ago (the 750/ti in this case). Better architecture performance and clock speeds with cut down memory bandwidth lowering to overall memory bus vs the older card. So generally ends up slightly ahead in raw calculation speed and slightly behind in situations that rely more heavily on memory performance.
In the end if you can spend the $40-60 price difference to the GTX 1050/ti you will get a pretty good performance difference, but that is nearly always the case going from budget to mid range.
