now i dont know who else likes running emus in full screen but if you are like me, the bigger the better. Well with all EMUs i played and movies Ive watched the typical way to exit fullscreen without exiting the program is hit the ESC key. On the dolphin emulator, hitting the ESC key exits the entire ROM. I just played a good hour of zelda and I had a skype message come in, so out of recation I hit ESC to read the message and that entire hours worth of zelda play was for nothing -- sigh. Anyways.... I didnt see a suggestion thread so im just gonna post this thread here. Hopefully the programmers can fix this issue...im so...not happy
Small but important fix for dolphin emu.

hours worth of zelda play is never for nothing. edit: you might want to try a multi monitor setup IM/browser on one and zelda on other. 07-20-2011, 02:45 AM
no it will ask whether or not you want to exit.

another solution is to change the hot key, its under Config>Interface Tab> Change the STOP function to something besides the Esc key. =)

@Tymas
Technically speaking this won't solve his problem, unless you also meant to say that he should change the "toogle fullscreen shortcut" to Esc instead. @Bignblack I'm afraid the developers won't take notice of this, as you just forgot to check the hotkey configuration in the emulator. The standard is that pressing alt + enter will toggle between the window and fullscreen setting. If you would rather have the esc key do this, just assign it to "toggle fullscreen" instead.

In actuality, yes, what I suggested would work perfect for what he had described, if you hit the Esc key, it STOPS the game running. If he would change the STOP function to another key or dissociate it altogether that would fix it, mapping TOGGLE FULL SCREEN to Esc would change it also, but what I think he was hinting at, is the DEFAULT function of the Esc key should not be mapped to STOP, maybe it should be defaulted to toggle full screen. And I always setup my hot keys, so that they use Function (F) keys, as not to accidentally bump one in the middle of playing (laptop has a Fn key i have to depress to use F keys.) |
