Sluggish Pointer, maybe a bug?

Hello Guys, I am very old user of Dolphin, never had any trouble with it, or understanding that some problems where emulation problems that would someday be fixed.

However after many years of use, today I found a very weird problem that never happened because I never played 4 persons with real wiimotes.

I wanted to play some mario Party, I connected all the wiimotes but they felt sluggish like they jumped from point to point instead of the smooth movemente they normally had.

I was not able to find the problem, so we played hoping none of the game required the use of the infrared pointer.

After the game finished I was still puzzled about why that happened and I used different versions of dolphin but nothing, nothing I did solved anything.

Until I solved (partially) without realizing.

My adapater is an ASUS BT400, if that can say something.

I always have the continuous scanning option activated, So I didn't think that could be the problem, but it was.

When I put 1 or 2 real wiimotes and continuos scanning nothing happens, everything seems perfect, smooth and everything is just like it should.

However if I choose 3 or 4 real wiimotes and keep the continuos scanning then all wiimotes even if its a 1 player game it become sluggish (not the game, the pointer, cursor. The game runs perfect).

So I disable continuos scanning and even with 4 real wiimotes working it does work perfect on mario party or anything else.

Has anybody else experience this? it is a problem with my dongle? it is a problem with dolphin? maybe a bug that uses too much bluetooth bandwidth or something?

its kind of an Incovenience because I don't know hot to syncronize the controllers once the game starts without the continuos scanning.

I have to get out of the game syncronize and get in in the game again?

Thanks guys

I think you're attempting to say:

The game works fine without continuous scanning, but the wiimotes are laggy with it on.

Solution:

Turn off continuous scanning; it's probably more stressful on the bluetooth adapter and that's causing it to struggle.

Yes that is What I do to solve the problem, my question is if this is normal? Doesnt the wii scan continuosly? Because When is continuosly scanning I can launch the game and just press the buttons and everything works.

But with it off I have to enter in the control option, turn on every wiimote, sincronyze them, enter the game and I have to do that everysingle time.

Instead with continuos scanning I just launch the game, press 1+2 and the remote is recognized and works.

So maybe I am doing something wrong or something, that is why I am asking, or maybe there is something on the bluetooth code of the dolphin that is stressing it more than it should.

I know nothing about this stuff I am just trying to give some info about something that happens.

A wii only uses scanning for a few seconds when the red button on the console is pressed. It doesn't need to continuously scan because when a wiimote first connects to a wii, it will remember that wii for future connection attempts. Dolphin doesn't act completely like a wii so wiimotes don't remember it, so they can't connect unless Dolphin is actively scanning. And as you've discovered, scanning chews up bandwidth resulting in reponse lag.
