It might also be a specific issue to this game (as I said before it's a recent game so let's wait for eventual reports) or why not a dump issue

Problem with this game is that it's pretty demanding,yet at the same time it requires 60 fps to run fullspeed.
But most speed achievable even with high end system is 30-40 fps.
So no,this game is not playble with current pc hardware.
But you do know there is pc version of the game,right ?

Sorry but it's impossible on that CPU . Nosound98 (google him ) has the better CPU than yours . Although he overclocked his Q9505 @ 3.6GHz , SMG 2 wouldn't run full speed without using frameskipping

Perfomance clock for clock : AMD FX- series -> AMD Phenom II -> Core 2 duo / Core 2 Quad = Llano -> 1st gen i3/i5/i7 (nehalem, for example : i3 530 ,i5 760,i7 920 ) -> 2nd gen i3/i5/i7 (Sandy Bridge , For Example : i3 2120 , i5 2500k ,i7 2600k) -> 3rd gen i3/i5/i7 (Ivy Bridge , For Example : i3 3225 ,i5 3570k ,i7 3770k)
Your CPU is behind 3 generation

I know, I am into home movies as well and I have been using this PC for 4 years. People told me that this PC would not play H.264 50 FPS at 27Mbps, still it does without dropping frames. Not in all software though, only in Media Player Classic.

I will test a little bit with Mario 2 and let you know Dodgy

Hi,

I was able to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 today on my "old" system and I got an average framerate of about 40 and a speed of 70-75%. Indeed it did feel a bit slower than expected but as the framerate is high enough to make things look smooth I did not pay attention to that at first. Now that I played again I noticed.

Regards
