Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm running build 5.0-14762 on GPD Win 3 and the game seems to slow down during some (not all) paper effects (i.e. Flurrie blowing away decoy objects/walls) and this happens at random and when reloading save states, it's always the same random occurances (like in chapter 4 when blowing away the fake trees/rocks in Twilight Trail). I have no idea how to fix this. I've been told that the bounding box feature needs to be enabled and it is. So what's causing this problem? Is there something that needs to be set to "True" or "False" in the game's INI settings? I just wish I knew what was causing the slowdown.

These are the bounding box effects, and are pretty demanding on an integrated GPU. Here are a few things to check:
-Do you have the latest Intel GPU driver installed?
-Are you playing with the charger plugged in and Windows Power Plan set to High Performance?
-What Graphics backend are you using? Have you tried switching to a different backend?
-Try the latest dev build of Dolphin. Savestates won't transfer over, but in-game saves will

The auto-update always fails, giving me an error and I'm afraid to manually install a new version and risk losing my save files on my virtual memory card. Losing save states really isn't an issue for me.

If there no portable.txt in the same folder as dolphin then dolphin then the settings and save will be in the documents. If there is it will be in the user folder in dolphin folder. If that the case copying the portable.txt and user folder and if necessary point dolphin to the current folder afterwards for you saves. If you unsure you can use the recycle bin to move it and if your save are gone restore the folder.
