Slow-Motion Speed running Emu!

Hello! I'm new to he forums, so forgive me if I post in the wrong place or do something wrong. haha

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110
Intel Core 15 Processor
Intel HD 3000 GPU
6 GB Ram

I've been trying to play my copies of LoZ Twilight Princess and Megaman X: Command Mission. They look beautiful, but they seem to run as if they're in slow motion. No distortion or anything... just slow. Like in The Matrix.

What can I do to get these games running at full speed?!

Thanks! Big Grin

You didn't tell us what CPU you have specifically. This is important to know. We need the exact model (e.g. my CPU is an i5-2500K, you might have something like an i5-2330M). In all likelihood, your CPU is probably just too slow for Dolphin (it's demanding as far as emulators go) and with a laptop, your options are limited in terms of boosting CPU performance.

The one thing you could do is try the very latest development revisions (4.0-2137 as of this writing) from here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ 4.0.1 is old and notably slower than the latest development builds. See if you get any significant speed ups. If you get any slowdowns, again, there may not be a lot you can do given a weak CPU.

Ooh, yeah. I should probably mention that part. It's an i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz. It's not too shabby, should run it okay. I'm gonna update my version and see how that fairs.

Okay, I got the latest version... 4.0-2137? Gameplay seems to have slowed a little more. Are there any settings I can tweak or plug-ins I can install to help this?

Your CPU is too weak for Zelda TP , your integrated GPU is not good either

For Zelda TP, try the ztp speedhack in the newest development builds. I wanted to point to the wiki, but it isn't explained how to use it: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess_(GC)

Rightclick on the game, properties, patches, and then check the speedhack.

Tried the speedhack, thank you for the practical advice! Unfortunately, there's a lag through the whole game, not just hyrule field. The speedhack didn't end up working for me.

So, I read some reviews of people testing the game on different machines. People with worse CPUs than me could run the game flawlessly at 30 FPS. For example, a tester named IguanaMasterz played on an Intel Core i5 @ 2.27GHz. He DID have an ATI Radeon HD 5450, though.
But I saw some testers with HD 4000s, that said it ran great though. Is it just that my GPU is a bit weaker than theirs?!

There are a lot of i5 cpus from different generations, if he has a haswell then it is 30-35% faster clock for clock than sandybridge in dolphin.

And we're usually faster on intel CPUs than AMD CPUs. The GPU however doesn't matter.

Either they're lying or they haven't tested on Hyrule Field yet
Most CPU can't run Zelda TP - Hyrule Field full speed
