Slow Gameplay.

Hey guys. I am currently playing Kirby's Epic Yarn and am having some slowing problems. During gameplay I get between 14 and 25 fps and the game is playable but is basically running in slow motion. I am new to the Dolphin and Kirby is my first and only game i have. I have tried a few different configs and a few different emu versions without any luck. I am currently running the most up to date version.

I have just recently purchased my computer in the last year so at first it seemed unlikely that my computer couldn't run the dolphin appropriately...but after searching a few forum threads it seems maybe it could be:

Intel ® Core ™ i5 CPU 650 @ 3.2 GHz
Nivida GeForce GT 220
4GB Rame

Any advice will help!

Currently i have the defualt settings with the most current (3.0 7683) download. But i'm not sure if my game can run with my cpu's components...i was hoping somebody could enlighten me if my computer is too weak.

This game runs at 60fps FYI so anything less than 60fps is slower than 100% regular speed unfortunately. On my system I get 60fps without any monsters on screen, 45-50 with like 2 or 3 monsters and unfortunately 30-40 in the first real level where you turn into a tank. The more "yarn" effects are on screen, from the water shooting up, the monsters or rockets you shoot in the tank, the worse my performance gets. Nothing of the actual level seems to affect my performance. Have tried most tricks and options I've learned so far, but haven't gone bananas trying to get this game to run perfectly speedy yet. Since my processor is similar I'd assume you could do better than you are right now atleast, though that graphics card is fairly weak it would only hinder you with high resolutions or anti-aliasing I think.

judging by the testing shown on the wiki your computer should run fine, maybe some slowdown on the loading screen but apart from that...
any background processes? using DSP-LLE? Desktop or laptop?

Edit: the above comment is based on the test with Intel Q8200 @ 2.6GHz, since it has a lower clock speed and an older CPU model

Actually it's quite the opposite. The loading/title screen pretty much run perfectly (occasional pause while loading) and it's not until i get into the gameplay does it slow. I turned off all background processes to no avail. To my knowledge I am not using DSP-LLE (sound processes if i'm correct). I downloaded the most up to date build of Dolphin and have not done much after that besides updating DirectX and Microsoft Visual. I tried to toggle the configs, but since i am running the newest version all the old forum posts I have run across are outdated. I am currently downloading a different wii game to see how that runs since i have only tried Kirby...but my instincts tell me that it's not the game. I am running it on a Dell xps8100 desktop.

any tips/tricks you'd want to pass on to a noob? Smile

Just for fun, try what I've been using.

My video if you want to see it running on my computer:

and my settings:

You probably are forced to run in dx9, and definitely keep anti-aliasing off and internal resolution low to start off with, otherwise you can try those settings just to see someone else that got it working.

You should take a picture of your settings because it shouldn't be that terrible with that processor I would think...
