Hello, for the past hour i've been frustratingly looking for an answer how to get skyward sword started without the sensor bar.

All i've found are people from 2012 who say that they got it working with a wii controller without a sensor bar but then they don't share how, and people linking to other threads saying search here we have a thread for this... After going through about 10 pages of a 300 page thread + using the search i've found squat.

I have an official wii sensor bar, but that input doesn't work on my pc. If I found some kind of adapter that might work I suppose but what kind of input is that even. And yeah I know about the blue tooth sensor bar you can buy, but I live in europe and searched multiple webshops without any result.

Basicly you can play skyward sword without a sensor bar i've read, all I got to do is get passed that damn menu prompt saying point the thingy to the middle. Is there no easy patch or whatever to circumvent this menu screen?

I've finally went and got batteries for my old wii mote and got that working, I suppose if nothing else works I can get two candles and try that way.

Already tried using a LED light from my second monitor and my phone but that doesn't do anything either.
Please just give me a straight answer for the love of god, not another link to a 300+ page thread.

Thank you,
Sincerely
-A very frustrated person.

Um, are you referring to a sensor bar (a set of IR LEDs), or a bluetooth adapter (which handles data from the wii remote)?

If you want to do it without a sensor bar, your best bet is to use two candles or try pointing at some other light source. But don't be surprised if the calibration of the controls in the game is terrible if you're not using a sensor bar while playing.

If you do want to use a sensor bar (which I strongly recommend for this game), please note that you do not need a DolphinBar (the sensor bar with integrated Bluetooth). Any kind of sensor bar will do fine. Sensor bars don't send any data to the console/PC, they just need to have some sort of power source. That's why e.g. two candles will work as a sensor bar.

Err, no. Skyward Sword will continuously "read" sensor bar position to do real time calibrations. While you can simply turn the sensor bar off after the initial "Point the wiimote and press A" screen, the controls will become very erratic and messy after some time, at the point the game will be unplayable. In other words, a proper sensor bar (or IR light source) is a requirement for Skyward Sword, not a recommendation...
