I just got Skyward Sword ready for dolphin running smoothly and all, but, dolphin will not load out of the Knight Academy at the very beginning of the game. I've tried different dolphin builds but, nothing changes. Any help, please?

You likely need to redump the game.

No change. Same exact problem. I'll try opening the door to exit the academy and it will go black screen, but, the music continues to loop as if I were still going through the door. (Music fade continuously)

So...
1st - Did you try the official Dolphin 3.0 release? 2nd - Did you try the latest git version 3rd - Can you post your Dolphin settings pls? Maybe you messed something up. 09-11-2012, 12:19 PM
I, now, have tried the official 3.0. Works, I'm able to get out of the academy and run around.
Git version? Current settings: D3D9. VSYNC on. 1024x768. 1x native (640x528). 4x SSAA. AF16x. Scaled EFB Copy On. XFB disabled. Disable per-pixel depth checked. Ignore format changes checked. Everything but Link and the HUD is choppy. Currently running at above 90% consistently. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. 09-11-2012, 12:35 PM
3.0 doesn't fully support this game; there are weird lines everywhere without EFB -> RAM, while in the more recent Git revisions (3.0-xxx) the lines aren't there with texture. Try using 3.0-758. I'm using DefenderX's build of that revision and I get through the area every time.

If the game works with his builds, it will work just the same with any other. The code is what matters, not the compiler.

I figured out why it was not loading properly. At the beginning, I originally did everything I could in the Knight Academy, get the 20 rupees and whatnot. At another try, I just opened the dresser and went out the front door. Loads fine (used 3.0-766. very fast for me I like it.) Anyhow, this sort of thing happened again shortly after. I state saved upon exit of the academy and did an in game save (bird save). Then I went and talked to the guy banging on the gate and went up the hill to the giant statue; did the same load error as before (repeat music as if I was going to go on). I just loaded the state save and tried going straight on up into the big statue area, same thing. Next, I restarted dolphin and loaded from the main screen save. Ran up and it worked. It's running smoothly for me now, bout to go through to the surface. But, only sometimes when I load from a state save, it will do that load error occasionally. So, I just use the in game save to play. Works fine that way.
Any ideas folks? Info: sometimes it does not display "clearing code cache" whenever I enter a different load zone. 09-11-2012, 02:15 PM

Of course, I just wanted to point out that I wasn't using an official build is all (I thought that was the policy here). There really isn't any difference that could exist between an ICC or other compiled build other than optimizations at a very low level.

Mr DJK: Savestates are unreliable sometimes, you really should just save normally to avoid issues. My advice, start the game over and only use the real game saves before you get far into the game and have more issues or lose your progress entirely.
