Skyward Sword FPS Problems

Skyward Sword is the first game I've tried to emulate on Dolphin. So far I've got the game working and the Wiimote properly working, but there's one huge problem: the game is slow. When I first start it up it works fine, ~25 FPS (playable), but after a few minutes it drops down to <20 fps and the game speed goes to 60% or so.

Processor: Intel Core i7 2630 @2.00 GHz 2.00 GHz
Ram: 8 gigs
Video Card: nVidia 540M
Windows 7, 64 bit

I've looked on the forums and tinkered with the settings in almost every way possible. I've put it on lowest internal resolution, followed the SS configuration guide on the forums, followed the performance guide on Dolphin, disabled fog, etc. and so far the fps ALWAYS drops sooner or later. I've also tried "Lock Threads to Cores" w/Turbo Boost enabled but I got absolutely no differences.

I've had to conclude that my computer is just incapable or running Dolphin. Is this the case? I bought it recently (5 months ago) and was expecting to encounter no problems with it for a few years -_-

could you run realTemp in the background?
and check the cpu speed/temp while 25fps++
and check the cpu speed/temp while <20fps

dolphin emulator is just cpu heavy...
the first cpu which works perfectly with every game
is the 2500k sandybridge(++) overclocked to 4ghz++

so... no current laptop can handle that Wink
due of heat/tdp/ and so on...
EDIT by neobrain: that pic was kinda annoying..
EDIT by dannzen: don't fuck with my sig Dodgy
EDIT by neobrain: yet, I will keep doing it Tongue

I just tested:

Temperature starts at ~65 C and climbs up from there during the game. About 5 mins in it peaks out at 90. So yeah the temperature definitely has something to do with it. Not sure what I can do though, already vacuum'd the air vents and connected laptop to an external fan.

How do u check cpu speed w/realTemp?

Also it's a laptop

there they are... but 90° is way to much...

place your notebook on the desk....
or on a HARD folder/binder

NEVER use it on the bed...
my temps just now are in my bed ;D

DID you see the Thermal-Status on the bottom?
"LOG" means that some time ago the cpu down throttled
"OK" means that everything is fine

there is a third value which indicates that JUST now the cpu is downthrottling..

i don't know why my cpu throttled Big Grin realtemp is running all the time
and the last max values are way to small to make a throttle
i accidentally started realtemp 2 times... maybe the max values got overwritten...
