Hi,

So I am attempting to emulate Skyward Sword on Dolphin, but I am getting an error which I cannot get past. I am using a real Wii Motion Plus controller (integrated motion plus) and a 3rd party nunchuk, although the nunchuk has always worked perfectly well.

Anyway, I'm getting this error

and I seem to get it even if using an emulated or hybrid Wiimote. I've done all the standard troubleshooting things like reconnecting the Wiimote, disconnecting and reconnecting the nunchuk, etc. but so far I get the same errors.

Does it think I don't have Wii Motion Plus, or does it think that I don't have a nunchuk? Is there a way to force it to recognize those things?

Thanks for any help. I really do appreciate it.

PC:
Core 2 Duo OC'd
8GB ram
GTS 450 graphics card
Windows 7 64 bit

DOLPHIN:
Version 3.0
JIT Recompiler, Enable Dual Core, Enable Idle Skipping

had the same screen many times when using third party equipment, your best bet is to go and buy retail official controllers

Change between real and hybrid in the settings, it'll fix itself.

Only the Hybrid Remote gets you a cursor though, so you'll need to switch to that eventually.

I get the same problem.

Ok, thanks for the tip.

I was actually going to return this 3rd party nunchuk anyway. It's this one, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's wireless, which is cool, but the wireless receiver part that attaches to the wiimote is bulky and stupid and uncomfortable, and doesn't fit if you're using the wiimote sleeve.

I'll bump this thread tomorrow if it still doesn't work after getting a 1st party nunchuk.

xD thats the same one I got, yeah, you wont get that to function without buying Bluesoliel and running glovepie, I wrote a tutorial for the memorex controllers in the controller section, you might want to at least try it before returning your nunchuck Tongue have fun and good luck ^^

As for Syncness's tip:

I tried switching between all the different Wiimote variations, and I got the same message. I'm assuming that by using "hybrid," Dolphin is guaranteed to report that I have a proper setup, and then I'll just have to switch back once things are going? Well, I get the error message either way.

But like I said before, I'll get a first party nunchuk and we'll see how things go tomorrow.

I am using the wii motion plus inside as well, with the nunchuk straight from a brand new wii and could not get it to work with Skyward Sword. I have tried all the wiimote setting and still get stuck at the "connect devices blah blah blah". So it may not be your nunchuk.

Any ideas?

Just as quick, try disabling "Reconnect Wiimote on State Loading". Seems to be working now.

This is what happens to me.

Sometimes I start Z:SS it tells me the nunchuk and motion plus is not connected, so I change from Hybrid to Real, press okay, go in game until it tells me to put the cursor in center of screen, then I switch back to Hybrid.

Ok, so I got a real nunchuk and a real wiimotion plus controller, but no matter what I do, it doesn't want to let me past that screen. I wonder if it doesn't think I have a plus controller and it thinks I just have a regular one and a nunchuk.

Is there some sort of setting that lets dolphin know I'm using a plus controller? The controller shows up with the device name "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01".
Also, is there any way to make sure my motion plus works on my controller? I don't have any other games that require it.

I tried disabling "Reconnect Wiimote..." but it didn't seem to help. Does your wiimote show up as the same name as mine (as listed above)?
