To be honest I no longer have a rig on my own since 5 years ago; it broke beyond reparing. Still saving for a new one. When it broke I was allowed to use the old general use desktop one at home. Notice: *already old* back then.
It gives pity: E7500 2.93 GHz, 4 GB RAM DDR2, Nvidia GeForce GT 220
But it was all I could get (and not even mine), and *still* ran quite some PC games and some few Wii games on Dolphin. Not full speed, but enjoyable.
Back then I tried SS with one of those unofficial Dolphin 3.0 builds with Wii Motion Plus emulation back then. Sorting out controls and setting graphics to DirectX11 backend were the way to go. From the very few I played it seemed to run well enough.
But due to some ugly personal big issues I wasn't able to continue playing. Then, later, I didn't come back.
Now 5 years later I read Dolphin finally has official Wii Motion Plus support. So there I go updating Nvidia drivers (current version 342.01), and download Dolphin rev 11077. Default backend seems to be OpenGL, but due to this GPU it runs horribly slow. So switched to DirectX11 and started game. It starts, but when about to enter the save game menĂº it crashed and I get error:
"Map failed in C:\buildbot\release-win-x64\build\source\core\videobackends\d3d\dxtexture.cpp at line 295: Map readback texture"
After this, emulation still runs but white screen and no sound.
I already tried tweaking a lot with Graphics settings, mainly in Hacks. I even tried getting past the point with OpenGL somewhere ingame and then making a savestate. But issue is never solved. As son as savestate is loaded same issue.
Using Windows 10 Pro 1903.
Any help with this, please?
Five years ago even official Dolphin 3.0 back then didn't have this issue with DirectX. Maybe Dolphin evolved, emulation got more accurate and thus broke compatibility with old devices?
