If you use that you can only get support in that thread alone. We don't provide support for unofficial builds. And note that most people on unofficial builds never get their issues resolved.

@Pseudo2018, please don't push a bad time onto users. Not only is that controller emulation system terrible, but that version is so old it is highly unstable, inaccurate, and really slow! If someone really wants to use that, they'll find it on their own. They *always* find it.

It's been rebased, so it's just highly unstable and inaccurate. Smile

@ MayImilae:
1) Sorry for this! The reason I do this, is because I remember when 1 Was a new user that want to emulate this game with a gamepad. What was the most difficult wasn't to configure a profile, but to know wich version of Dolphin to use (espacially in 2018, we like to use the most recent build, not something that's from 2012). It's really hard to find good information (just go check some new video about it & you'll see a lot of people searching for this). Because of that I gave up so many times. Finally, after some years, I finally found someone that know what he is talking about (so yeah, the 2012 version is the best even in 2018. Also, the new rebase 5.0 version is a lot less good in the emulation of the MotionPlus).

2) I completed more than one game on this build & I never had a single crash, so it's really stable for me.

3) Wii games are a lot less demanding than WiiU games. I run Skyward Sword on an old laptop, so definetaly not slow (don't need a good CPU). Of course, if you compared it to the recent build it's less fast.

4) If someone put good info (version to use & tutorial & explain some options in the profile setup), every user can use it easily. The best place to do this will be on the wiki compatibility. But like someone said, it's not support. So I don't think we can put it there.

You need to use Dolphin 3.0 build 410 (unofficial build by J. Peterson). The only thing is that for the new user it's really hard to understand all the options to setup your profile. Most peoples don't want to take the time for this. That's the reason why most people say it's not working or you see video on youtube that's working not really good. For more information you can check all my comments here (removed). But once you understand all the option, it's almost perfect.

thanks, im going through some of the options right now and its already giving me a headache.

Well, here's the most important things to setup your control:

1) For the wiimote in the section rotate, the button called "Fast" is to change a slow action to fast action.
Example: When you'll hold this button & use your sword, it's for sword strikes. If you don't hold it & use your sword, you'll just move it (no strikes).

2) For the wiimote in the section rotate, all the Gyro Range option is to change the speed of a slow/fast action. It doesn't change a slow action into a fast action. If you put it more fast, the slow & fast action will be more fast. If you put it more slow, it will be more slow.
Warning: If you put it really to slow you can't use fast action.

3) For the wiimote in the section option. Put a hotkey for the "Hide IR". This is the most important thing. For almost all the game, you need it Disabled. But for some little parts, when you can't move to the Left/Right, you need to Enabled it (you can check my comment in my profile for more info). After you finish these little part, always remember to disabled it. Because, if you don't, you'll spend some hours to figure out how to resolve your control problem. Also, MotionPlus should be enabled. Sometimes when you started the game, you need to recheck it. This is the only option in the wiimote that you need to check (enabled).

All the rest, it's like to configure a normal game on an official Dolphin version. If you're the type of person that need help to do is own profile for normal game (no MotionPlus), I don't recommend to do this. But if you're able to do you're own profile, I think that's really worth it even if it take some time. Because this is a really long good game to finish. Also, it's not the only MotionPlus game that you can completed with this build.

Between, I know that someone put a little tutorial on the forum some years ago. It's very useful for new users.

No problem!

But just in case, I hope that you try a profile of someone, before. Because, if not, of course you understand nothing what I'm talking about.

The little tutorial & profile I talk about earlier, that's good for new users, is this one: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-zelda-skyward-sword-emulated-motionplus-logitech-setup

I recommend to try this profile. After this it will be more easy to understand how it works & as you progress ingame you can adapt this profil the way you like.
